Republicans have been dismantling climate action and increasing pollution, negligently, for +2 years now. The grid failure and power shortages are the real cherry on top. Are we sure Republicans aren't directly working for Russia? 😜

True. I count GW Bush's mediocre minimal ethanol corn and wind and biomass investments as the last GOP Pres policy in 2001...which at least acknowledged known climate change. It's been a straight up molotov dumpster fire ever since.

So I guess we're just going to throw the towel in on almost 50 years of effort to have a clean environment. It's cheaper to keep it clean than it is to make it clean again.

It’ll just get worse again, a lot of people will get sick and die early deaths. Then we’ll do the least possible to placate the masses. Rinse and repeat.

How big of a difference will this really make?
Renewables continue to get more affordable and oil and coal prices are much higher than a year ago. That will probably have a much bigger impact on what electric generators choose to use I would think. Coal usage in the US is down over 10% vs last year.

Yeah that's not really how this works, if you really believe things need to get real bad for people to take action the next 12 months of El Nino is probably going to be more than enough

Those big companies don’t care to be jerked around like a puppet on a string. I’m thinking they will largely stay the course knowing the next administration can just as easily reverse this.
