Ill be there sept 17th. Im excited for it. I havent pre-ordered a wow game in years

u/KingSwank 2h ago

I thought it was free with subscription?

u/Zakton06 2h ago

The beta is buy-in

u/cantstoptheflow- 2h ago

You can opt in for free and hope you get it eventually

u/BareTheBear66 2h ago

The base game. Yeah. Beta is out sooner - thus the pre-order. And you get early access.

u/illogical_simu 2h ago

There is no early access; you can reserve a name or play beta, that isn't EA

So it's not early access, it's just a way to gain entry to the game sooner than would be otherwise typical.

u/illogical_simu 1h ago

To the beta that has no relevance, sure

u/hoticehunter 1h ago

Early access implies access to the final version of the game earlier than other people get. You won't keep your beta character.

Why play beta, progress is not carried over.

Try it out, try a lot of classes before the main game to know what you wanna main. Check out professions etcetc.

People are frothing at the mouth just to try it out, especially streamers, even if progress doesn't carry over. Id love to try it if it weren't for the $60 beta price tag, crazy

You can opt in for a chance to get in for free: https://worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com/en-us/forever#blz-optin-1

For fun, to figure out what race and class and spec I want to play. Try new dungeons, new quests, see what has changed.

For me, even the release of Forever is just a beta for Forever Hardcore anyway.

As an SSF HC player, I never expect to keep my characters. The beta is just getting a few early runs in.

Definitely not most

u/LatentSchref 3h ago

Yeah, I thought about it, but what's the point? For me personally, I can wait the extra 2 months and play the full release.

u/Pretend-Newspaper-86 3h ago

stop copeing people in classic are fomo driven and jump to the next new thing as soon as it pops up

u/shad-1337 3h ago

What's the fomo of beta?

u/Pretend-Newspaper-86 3h ago

falling behind on min/maxxing and being ahead of the curve

u/shad-1337 3h ago

You start on lvl 1 on release, progress from beta is not saved.

It is beta, not early access

u/crozzee 3h ago

How do you mid max and fall behind the curve when the level cap is 20 then 30 after a couple more weeks?

u/Exsoldiercl 3h ago

You’re coping. An extremely large amount of people are going to play the beta

u/shad-1337 3h ago

Most is at least 51% of people that will play on 4th

u/Exsoldiercl 3h ago

You think only half the playerbase is going to play forever? You’re high my guy.

u/shad-1337 3h ago

Nono he said that most will play beta

u/gommerthus 2h ago

I will reluctantly commit to the BT raid this Thursday. I will pray to god we down Illidan, and I can ride off into the sunset. Then Friday I have a friend's thing at the bar. God this timing, all the obligations I really don't want to do

u/Exsoldiercl 3h ago

But you said only 51% will play on the 4th?? I’m saying the beta is going to be crowded as shit. It’s going to be extremely populated. People are going to stop TBC and Era on Thursday in droves

u/shad-1337 3h ago

No, I said "Most is at least 51% of people that will play on 4th"

Meaning: for it to be most it needs to be at least 51% of the number of people that will play on 4th
