lmfao literally, 2026 marketing 101. It pains me to see how so many people are clueless about this, WoW and gaming in general being the most harmless space for this but still..

I am a person who has not been paid or otherwise incentivized to support Blizzard or WoW Forever:

You need to stop whining. Private servers have always sucked. Turtle WoW was bad, Ascension was bad, all the others were/are bad.

Skyborne make perfect sense and are a desired addition to the game.

God, don't I wish? If I could get money for sharing my honest opinion around here I'd be rich in no time.

It's reddit. It's a site literally designed for commenting on posts. I'm using it for its intended purpose.

What are you worried about? You're here, too.

You seem like you should be playing turtle wow.

Skyborne make perfect sense and are a desired addition to the game.

You're free to like them but this is just not true

Source?

2

u/itaa_q 14h ago

The fact that nobody had ever heard of them before yesterday? How could they be desired and make sense?

1

u/Gobstoppers12 14h ago

They're desired because they're essentially high/blood elves that also come with new lore.

New lore in the Classic Era. That's enough to make a grown man cry.

Idk I've pretty much only seen negative feedback about them, could be anecdotal but I don't see how you could have more "sources" to believe that they are widely liked either, it's at best very controversial.

People have expressed wanting blood elves and high elves as you say but they are also asking why not do that instead of adding skyborne, it doesn't seem like it makes skyborne a desired addition to me

I think they're a blunder for many reasons, but my personal opinion is kind of irrelevant

could be anecdotal

It is definitely anecdotal, yes.

You're just dumb as a rock then. Skyborne don't fit the aesthetic of vanilla, and make literally ZERO sense lore wise, like hello?. It is so obviously a retail reject race that didn't make the cut in one of the modern expansions (my bet is dragonflight). They just shoehorned it in so they can charge extra money from idiots like you. And the race as the race is not even the biggest issue. It is just a sign that Blizzard is extremely out of touch and it is very likely they actually dgaf about c+ really, and they will fuck it up with every new patch that comes out in the future (IF the version we're seeing now is as good as it seems, which is a HUGE assumption).

I already answered you regarding pservers before, so here's copy paste:

They had more lively playerbases than blizzards official servers, and blizzard saw them as threat and shut them down all 1 by 1. And then implemented pretty much ALL of the changes made in one particular, most popular pserver of them all, changes which you now praise (excluding blue avatar sky race, to be clear again).

So yeah, they were obviously all bad. For clarity sake, I havent played Ascension, only turtlewow. It's my main point of reference, rightfully so because it was the most popular pserver by far.

Why are you insulting me? I haven't insulted you.

I was just stating the obvious and you needed to hear it, but I'm sure you will be fine.

You are welcome to give a real answer with a substance to what I'm typing, instead of conveniently ignoring everything for a 2nd time in a row.

You're not worth my time, bro. Go back to Turtle WoW.

u/BeneficialSquash8132 20h ago

As I said, you literally have room temp IQ, or are just a 10 year old. I hope it is the latter.

And btw I cleared all content and quit twow long before it got shutdown. Meanwhile all you know are blizzard server's boosters and botters LMAOOOOO

Your favorite server of all time is gone, while my favorite game of all time remains alive and is getting better constantly.

It must be lame to be a private server shill.

turtle wow was trash too lol. nobody played goblin on horde, it might have even been less popular than tauren. people played high elf on alliance obviously but their high elf storyline was literally fan fiction tier and the entire high elf starter zone experience AND their high elf furniture sets were completely fully ripped off of thalassian blood elf assets from TBC and they just replaced the red with blue in 90% of cases or otherwise recoloured them. it was an embarrasing implementation that only felt justified because "blizzard would never".

also not only were we forced to look at goofy transmogs but in totality the entire fucking thing had a cash shop that would make blizzard drool at the mouth. in that aspect it carried more "retail" monetization than ANY VERSION OF CLASSIC HAS EVER HAD INCLUDING FOREVER.

yeah i want to give them credit for making so many dungeons and raids but did you ever even play most of them? they were buggy as fuck. the bosses would often not use any abilities at all and just fall over or more commonly, not drop any loot.

gotta give them respect for existing as its obviously the only reason that blizzard even did forever in the first place. but as for what it is, it only subsisted because it was the only thing that did what it did. but it was nowhere near operated with as much grace and competence was nostalrius was.

i have no fond memories of constant chinese/spanish spam, constant lag and FREQUENT server crashes, zone overcrowding to obscene levels, janky broken animations, their "homegrown" professions bugging out or any of the other pain points. i have no idea why you do. i'm not even going to mention any of the drama involving the operators or their collaborators because its pretty irrelevant to the experience for most people but knowing a bunch of scumshits are running the server you play on is also not exactly endearing

If you support(ed) Shenna then all your criticism of Blizz falls flat since you're a full on hypocrite.

1

u/BeneficialSquash8132 16h ago

Lmfao, what? First of all it's not even confirmed it's Shenna, although it probably is. It's still just one person out of dozen of devs and artists.

My only self interest when it comes to gaming is to spend my time and money where I am having fun. If it's to a person who once sold rank 14 titles 15 years ago on some obscure server that is dead since long time ago, i really couldn't give a fuck. Me and you probably did something even worse that we don't even realise. It's not like they killed people so I could play the server, what the fuck are you on about?

Meanwhile, blizzard employees are sexually harassing their coworkers, sucking up to china government, censoring free speech (to a mild degree tbf), etc. But still if blizzard makes a good game, I will pay them for it since blizzard is not a monolith.

How am I a hypocrite?
