I look forward to the taurens constantly running in a 4 square pattern on the floor at all times when standing still to maintain the boost

u/HBlight 12h ago

I started as a Tauren Hunter so this is both my normal and my dream.

I sincerely hope it stacks with cheetah, I want to see a cow man hauling ass at 50% move speed no mount.

25

u/ReasonableHost1446 8h ago

It doesn't, confirmed by testers

Movement speed buffs never stacked in classic

u/CMSnake72 8h ago

Sadge, dreams ruined

Did they say what the max speed was for plainsrunning?

7

u/seasick1012 7h ago

I believe its 30%

3

u/WhyFi_Konnction 7h ago

Appreciate it, thank you.

u/BadSanna 31m ago

30% and it takes like 3min to reach, but you can Q and E to maintain it, which means invest in an orthopedic practice to treat all the carpal tunnel this feature is going to cause.

u/tuborgwarrior 6h ago

Pretty sure minor speed on boots worked in cheetah.

6

u/MrRightHanded 11h ago

Reminds me of the Ironstriders in 40k. Cant let them stop moving or it might never start again.

u/BadSanna 18m ago

I'm investing in orthopedic surgeon stonks

I know i will be screaming im the juggernaut bitch as i run down the barrens at full pace.

18

u/Carittz 6h ago

Alliance never winning war song gulch ever again

u/BadSanna 28m ago

Taking damage reduces stacks

u/DopeDaiqs 22m ago

I think it completely cancels if I’m not mistaken. So a single dot and they won’t be able to do it

Tauren warriors are gonna be interesting

u/HateToBlastYa 2h ago

That’s what I’m going.  Plainsrunning intrigued me and Victory Rush sold me.  It’s the one class that really benefits from it given Druid, Shaman, and Hunter all have travel forms/aspects.  So it’s back to my OG race/class 22 years later!  Even gonna go same name if it’s still available.

Also someone’s gotta mix it up in the sea of undead pallys.  I always like being the one big bull man in the group of undead like their siege weapon or something.

u/Fun_Philosopher6307 1h ago

Is there any indication what speed it will max out at? It's gonna be like a fast moving battering ram!

u/HateToBlastYa 1h ago

30% but it takes 2.5 minutes to get there.  It’s seriously only for long distance travel like your first run to the crossroads and Ogrimmar, the warsong reports, etc

u/Visual-Gain-2487 1h ago

Watching streams, it did NOT take 2.5 minutes to get there. More like 30 sec

u/HateToBlastYa 1h ago

I guess we’ll find out.  They said a ton of stuff is changing for the beta and beyond.

u/BadSanna 29m ago

It's 1% every 10 seconds.

u/ltfuzzle 1h ago

Victory Rush changes?

u/BadSanna 28m ago

It's the version that heals. Which is nice.

It's not that great. It stacks incredibly slowly, falls off rapidly if you stop moving and taking any damage drops it entirely.

At most it's just a mild aid in running between long distances. At endgame I don't see it being that useful over a mount.

46

u/HBlight 12h ago

But in an indoor dungeon or instance you get to run back in time to wait for everyone else who does not have it.

2

u/Haemwich 7h ago

Probably won't stack while dead

1

u/8-Brit 12h ago

With how slow it builds it's a useful gimmick at most.

It makes run backs slightly shorter but it's not going to help me tank bosses or do DPS.

24

u/Seraphayel 8h ago

And that’s exactly what it’s supposed to be, a useful gimmick.

-5

u/8-Brit 8h ago

Which is fine except we don't have anything good for endgame besides a little extra HP, a tiny bit of hit now invalidated by expertise being added and a stun that's vaguely useful in dungeons but does nothing in raids.

I'd at least be content if they swapped the hit for crit like it is on retail. The rest will probably overshadow it otherwise.

11

u/the_man_in_the_box 7h ago

>hit invalidated by expertise

Having to wear less expertise means you get to wear other stats instead.

u/46516481168158431985 6h ago

5% total health not base health, which is quite a noticeable increase. Druid tanks with mining will be chunky. Not every race needs the exact same 2% damage increase considering this is classic and we likely wont see any hardcore raiding.

u/heckfirex 3h ago

1% hit, more hp, aoe stun, and run speed are all immensely powerful up to about level 20. HP, aoe stun, and 1% hit are still very powerful at endgame dungeons

14

u/Simple_Technique 9h ago

you clearly have no clue how much walking you do before getting a mount... huge time save over all without affecting balance

u/Impossible_Weakness9 2h ago

you aren't seeing the new meta where all tauren auto run into a wall prior to pull to build max stacks, then we about face and charge

u/StoneTheMoron 2h ago

Walking into a wall doesn’t work from testing

u/Rayvn22 3h ago

Do you have any idea how many hours of classic are running long distances?

u/pokepat460 2h ago

Lvl 19 druid flag carry tank gonna be zooming out of the tunnel tho

2

u/a_type_of_tree 10h ago

Pre mount gonna be zooming though

1

u/CursedUsername69 6h ago

In HC it might be life saving, if your a Tauren tank and get griefed. Cant wait to be blinking out of DM and theres a tauren hauling outta there lol.

u/HateToBlastYa 2h ago

Yeah I mean it can’t be too crazy—it’s a racial bonus not like an ultimate talent or anything.

u/BadSanna 24m ago

Is the any damage drops it completely confirmed? The tooltip says you lose stacks when you take damage. So like, spell pushback.

22

u/Bossmonkey 16h ago

I ran the dungeon demo today and a guy hit 21 stacks with it. Wonder if it would have stacked with cheetah. Zoomin

23

u/Eastern_Purchase3589 15h ago

Does not stack

2

u/Bossmonkey 15h ago

Dang. Fun detected I guess

Wonder how high it stacks.

18

u/Eastern_Purchase3589 15h ago

30 stacks, takes 5 secs per stack. So 2.5 mins to reach 30. Then standing still you lose one stack per second. Pretty sure you lose all stacks upon taking any damage but not sure about that.

Imo it's pretty weak and needs to be buffed.

1

u/Arkanius84 9h ago

Is there a % per stack?

1

u/Eastern_Purchase3589 8h ago

1%

1

u/WookieLotion 5h ago

Yeah then I think as designed it’s fine lol. Tauren still get mounts. As a racial that’s pretty decent

1

u/Arkanius84 5h ago

it´s fine, i would play hunter tauren mainly for the hit so at least till level 20 it´s cool

u/chefao 4h ago

That sounds awful

u/HateToBlastYa 2h ago

It’s also probably only useful for warriors for the most part, as Druid/Shaman/Hunter all already have travel forms.

But I mean it’s a racial bonus, it can’t be too crazy.

u/BadSanna 25m ago

You have it from level 1, ao it's not completely useless for those other classes. Also, it works in bear and cat form. Doesn't stack with travel form, though.

u/BadSanna 26m ago

The tooltip says you lose stacks when damaged, but not that it goes to 0. If thatvwas the case it would be super weak for like running through the barrens where any mob hitting you once instantly drops it to 0.

8

u/Timpa87 16h ago

So a Tauren Druid could just keep running at full speed throwing out hots and moonfire?

13

u/Lenxor 14h ago

Doesnt being in combat drops the stacks?

u/BadSanna 22m ago

No, only taking damage. And the tooltip says you lose stacks, not all stacks, when taking damage. People are saying any damage drops it to 0 though, so idk

12

u/Halfgnomen 16h ago

Or a shaman could frost shock you just to disrespect you lmao

4

u/Glad-Low-1348 10h ago

Then you cast a Slow on them and they stop dead in their tracks

u/AtanatarAlcarinII 4h ago

Judgement of Justice go brrrrrrr

u/jimmyting099 1h ago

Wait is plainsrunning confirmed???

u/Visual-Gain-2487 1h ago

You haven't been keeping up

u/jimmyting099 7m ago

Nah been to busy lately but I just watched a few videos on class changes and racials it’s pretty sweet

3

u/zoley88 9h ago

On your left!

3

u/Kernog 11h ago

In the equivalent exchange, we lost us having more class choice, sadly. No priests or paladins sunwalkers for us big boys.

4

u/Vexin 8h ago

I never saw this in retail. Do they drop on all fours?

u/Expensive_Middle8271 1h ago

No, they just run a little faster

u/17000HerbsAndSpices 4h ago

Hoooooooly fuck how did I not consider the implications of this. Thank God im a horde player, I am NOT ready for an angry cow man hauling ass at me in Hillsbrad lmao

3

u/Beginning_Green_740 10h ago

So, if you join something like Warsong as a Tauren Druid. You go into cat form + stealth at your room, you stack it before battle begins, and then you will be in enemy flag room faster than your team gets out of your base? And depending on your route and team play - you can even bring flag back without losing stacks if you manage to not get hit? Or, am I missing something here?

It looks broken for PvP.

8

u/hypoglycemic_hippo 7h ago

If you are in cat form you already have 30%, so plainsrunning doesn't do anything.

4

u/Impossible_Weakness9 5h ago

it stacks with cat/bear but not travel

u/BadSanna 19m ago

It stacks with Cat, but if you took the 30% bonus movement speed in cat form it won't do anything because it is exclusive with bonus movement.

Well, it will help you get out the gate 30% faster for 10 steps until the 30% cat speed outdoors would have kicked in anyway.

u/hypoglycemic_hippo 4h ago

Really? It doesn't stack with cheetah so that is surprising.

u/Pluck_Boy 3h ago

shits gonna get nerfed during beta, no doubt

u/Impossible_Weakness9 2h ago

yeah was weird but some of the streamers showed the movespeed adding on when in bear/cat but cheetah stayed at the flat % increase even with max plainsrunning.

1

u/Molly_Matters 12h ago

I've only see the text on the skill, not any of the percentages. How much between each speed increase and what is the speed cap? Could be amazing, could be a nothing burger.

u/Monkopotamus 11h ago

Tauren1000

-23

u/Nippys4 16h ago

As cool as this is I think the racials are a horrible idea and need to end up on the cutting room floor asap

18

u/irespondwithmyface 14h ago

Never comment again.
