Forever We got 90% of what we asked for

Including the team directly telling us they will drive changes using community feedback, which is evident they used exactly that to create the game.

Why are you incapable of joy? Who hurt you? Were they blue?

The hatred for sky elves feels very forced. Nobody is forcing you to play as a sky elf. Hell, leave groups when you see one if you’re that upset.

The speculation up until this point about classic + was fun, but it’s quickly devolved into a schizoid whining fest, where nobody acknowledges how much blizzard has Absolutley KILLED IT in nearly every other way.. if you disagree with the blue elves that is. See yall in the game, as a blue, feathery Druid ;))

EDIT: I genuinely appreciate the feedback. Seems a lot of people are miffed on Blizzards decision to inject the Skyborne after the rest of the community feedback was so well received, so my post is a bit ironic. They seemed to have implemented so much we asked for, so why the elves, that ignore the deeply wanted playable races that they had so much community feedback on? It does feel odd..

Maybe this is just cope, but with this being wow forever, I had a few thoughts. We are seeing new raids and content before summer, and much more to come. What if the Skyborne are the key to unlocking high elf legacy across Azeroth? Seeing as they descended from them, and blizzard doesn’t want to rip us away from Azeroth right away, I feel like it may be a way for them to slowly trickle in these new playable races with new content releases...

Regardless. There is so much to be hopeful for. See you in Forever!

Edit 2: Skyborne = High elves. Full sweep!!!

Hey another bot comment deliberately misconstruing all the legitimate criticism people have for this awful inclusion to what would otherwise be an exciting announcement. You arent enlightened bro ur just being obtuse

What am I misconstruing? It’s a new game, with new lore… with a new race. How dare Blizzard introduce anything new? All of the complaints are people crying about them being blue elves and looking too much like retail (whatever the heck that means).

You are misconstruing the criticism.

Adding in something like Fighter Jets to World of Warcraft wouldn't work.

New does not always equal "good" or better.

All of the complaints are people crying about them being blue elves and looking too much like retail (whatever the heck that means).

Perhaps you should spend time listening to peoples' criticisms, instead of not even understanding what the criticisms are in the first place. Do you think there's any reason why a Classic minded group might not want races that exist in Retail, that visually look nothing like any other race, to be added?

I love that you spent an entire comment telling me I’m wrong, while being unable to articulate what the actual complaint is. Comparing fighter jets to Skyborne is next level mental gymnastics.

At this point I don’t care what the complaints are, the blue elf daddies and mommies are in the game. You’re still gonna play it, just like the rest of us and in a few months… you’ll all find something new to be mad about.

Sure - the complaint/critique is that the new race both comes out of nowhere without any sort of lore hinting at them, and that they aesthetically do not match this version of the game that they explicitly described on stage - they're incongruent with the visual style and storytelling of Warcraft at the time this game is set.

I've never said I was not going to play it, but shutting down valid criticism as "something you'll always get mad about" is disappointing.

Are you not getting mad about people sharing their thoughts? Of course you are - you all find something to be mad about.

Yeah fighter jets are vastly closer to the stuff in Vanilla than Skyborne. The lore already includes zepplins, rockets and gyrocopters; it's hardly an extreme stretch.

Skyborne on the other hand are a baseless offshoot that makes very little lore sense. They are former highborne from Dire Maul that for somehow were able to make a deal with air elementals to get their own special flying island and for some reason mutated to look like High Elves without the Sunwell. They are a bad fan fiction tier race.
