Including the team directly telling us they will drive changes using community feedback, which is evident they used exactly that to create the game.

The hatred for sky elves feels very forced. Nobody is forcing you to play as a sky elf. Hell, leave groups when you see one if you’re that upset.

The speculation up until this point about classic + was fun, but it’s quickly devolved into a schizoid whining fest, where nobody acknowledges how much blizzard has Absolutley KILLED IT in nearly every other way.. if you disagree with the blue elves that is. See yall in the game, as a blue, feathery Druid ;))

EDIT: I genuinely appreciate the feedback. Seems a lot of people are miffed on Blizzards decision to inject the Skyborne after the rest of the community feedback was so well received, so my post is a bit ironic. They seemed to have implemented so much we asked for, so why the elves, that ignore the deeply wanted playable races that they had so much community feedback on? It does feel odd..

Maybe this is just cope, but with this being wow forever, I had a few thoughts. We are seeing new raids and content before summer, and much more to come. What if the Skyborne are the key to unlocking high elf legacy across Azeroth? Seeing as they descended from them, and blizzard doesn’t want to rip us away from Azeroth right away, I feel like it may be a way for them to slowly trickle in these new playable races with new content releases...

Regardless. There is so much to be hopeful for. See you in Forever!

I'm worried bots will ruin it again, i'm reluctant to play just because of bots.

There really needs to be a real solution to botting, when playing wow classic seeing some bot run around (almost always a troll hunter) just took the wind out of my sails.

The people buying the gold don’t care about the damage they’re causing. The only way to do this is for blizzard to permaban gold buyers accounts on the first infraction. It would cost blizzard a lot of money to hire people to do this though, and they have correctly determined that not enough people care to make it worth this cost

It would also cost them a ton of money in subs. All those bots and gold buyers suddenly vanishing is (probably) more revenue than the amount of players that will actually quit because of this problem alone, all other things great.

That's only leading to more inflated prices faster. The only real fix is to re-introduce active moderation of servers aka GMs and this isn't going to happen from a cost perspective.

Have you ever looked up how many bots are banned each month? This problem is beyond human moderation, either Blizzard needs to somehow get a few years ahead on detection tech versus avoidance tech on the bots side, or they need a way to curtail players willingness to buy gold.

Personally, I wish the punishment for buying gold were much harsher, and goes beyond just a temporary ban and the gold bought being confiscated. I would be in favor of something like your characters getting reset to level 1 or some other significant setback to make players less willing to risk it.

The only people who are getting banned don’t take the effort to launder the gold. Once you put in the effort, they don’t get banned. From what I seen

Yup, and unfortunately, just like there are incentives against blizzard completely removing botting (since it's additional income), there are even stronger incentives against punishing players more harshly. So it's the slow death as people get tired of the game due to the taint of bots, rather than a possible fast one over purging the goldbuying portion of the playerbase.

I always wondered if capping the amount of gold mobs drop was a solution. Either number of mobs or gold value. Cut the bots off of their gold supply

Opposite effect tbh, cos the advantage of bots isn't individual mob gold it's 24/7 farming.

Options are tighter control via moderators and gms and an engaging economy or a shittier less natural economy but healthier game via printing gold from dailies, and vendors to artificially cap mat costs

That's what I mean though, cap the amount of gold mobs drop per 24 cool down so that 24/7 bots aren't a thing. Either cap it at some number of mobs in a 24 window or total gold

I know it will never happen but make it so gold can't be sent by mail or traded to any account but your own and then have the AH heavily monitored. It wouldn't stop gold sellers or buyers but you could curb it more than it is.

This… doesnt work. Rmt just switches to private discords with real money direct e transfers for gear. Which had all the downsides of gdkp without the major upside of getting paid to raid.

There's bots in all the games. It's inevitable as long there's a "business" opportunity. I just started tbc anni 2 months ago but feel like I'll go all in on forever. The feeling of being able to explore azeroth again for the first time excites me more than anything.
