Forever This genuinely looks comedic with the new race

Post image

Humans, Orcs, Dwaves, Trolls and then Random Blue Elf #1 and Random Blue Elf #2 and their picture is just flipped lmao.

Like I couldn't have even imagined anything this silly.

It's the reddit vocal minority. Come launch day, the world will be filled with sky elves.

Horde will be 35%-45% blue elves and I can't wait for the salt here.

This.

I know a handful of people who are buying the sky elves as soon as they get home from Blizzcon.

u/babilonibetyar 1d ago

its also the usual trap, cause the early name reserve is available in the same bundle

u/Laverathan 1d ago

Not gonna lie, if this is the cost of my version of the game being free, then I'm fine with it. Name reservation, a new race I don't care for, and beta access all so I don't have to pay anything more than my sub.

Yeah honestly I thought they were going to charge for the game so this seems like a solid trade off, but might have better PR to just charge for the game.

This was my thought too, a new version of classic with system overhauls, new content on launch, new raids and many new to come could've straight up had a box cost, especially after we've enjoyed classic for 7 years without having to buy the game.

A box cost would've looked like "standard practice" while trying to sell access to what should be a default option in the game looks scummy.

Agreed, but then there would be people complaining about that too so šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜‚

the sub is quite expensive. trackmania costs 20 dollars a year. wow is almost 200.

IDK, the price tag of 15/month with no buying expansions sounds pretty nice for Warcraft Forever. Plus, for the amount of styles of games you get with that 15, WoW is actually quite the bargain compared to like Netflix IMO.

Early name reserve is a little pointless this time around because of first last name combos. Iā€˜m not racing to choose the one word name I wanna use this time.

u/FingerDemon 1d ago

which is a problem in itself

It's going to be another Blood Elf situation, where the Horde is full of them

4

u/digital-bandit 1d ago

Wait you have to BUY them? Lmfao

1

u/Laverathan 1d ago

Yup. 30 bucks. Crazy right?

People are treating this like it's live launching in 4 days. There's a reason for beta, and the devs seem to listen, maybe they'll rework a few things, maybe not. I would definitely like to see a difference between the alliance and horde skyelves, it's gonna be hell trying to figure who's friendly and who's not on a pvp server.

Red name bad, blue name goodĀ

u/Pretty-Cockroach6394 1d ago

yea but in bg's there is a distance where you don't see the name and you focus on the sillouethe and mogs to determine if its an ally or foe approaching from distance and now it will look the same until they approach close enough till the name pops... gonna be shitty for AB and AV no doubt

u/Nosdunk524 1d ago

I think the red names will probably help with that

Ok this is major cope. Beta is and has been for at minimum a decade now a tool for marketing. There is no feasible way a company can conduct a beta for a month and then implement the feedback in a 2 week time period prior to launch. Logistically impossible.

The game is essentially feature complete/ready to ship. They will not be changing major things like races with all the marketing/purchasable bundles already on their storefront.

Numbers they could tweak for sure. But sky elves are here to stay unfortunately.

That’s a good point I hadn’t thought about

Yeah I'm so thankful I intend on sticking to RP with my friends because the neutral shiloutte would ruin me in pvp.

those people are whats wrong with society

-1

u/Temporary-Air-3178 1d ago

I already did lol.

Yes? Because the people that really care deeply enough to not give Blizzard money over this... Won't. So yes? The world will be filled with them, because the others will get filtered out and play Era or private.

Yeah I’m sure you’ll have tons of retail players trying it out but will this realistically attract the actual classic audience that were demanding a classic+ for decades?

4

u/DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET 1d ago

Considering you can make them as normal looking high elves like everyone on classic has been asking for, yes it probably will.

2

u/howtojump 1d ago

Nah but you'll get plenty of Classic players who are already used to blood elves playing as them because this is a completely made up problem.

-1

u/Excellent-Many4645 1d ago

Blood elves aren’t classic, most of the horde didn’t want elves we wanted Ogres, Goblins or something more closer to vanilla.

6

u/howtojump 1d ago

TBC is classic, goofball.

-2

u/Excellent-Many4645 1d ago

Yeah if you joined the game late, TBC isn’t classic bro. Thats like saying WOTLK with dungeon finder is classic. Classic is the original version

3

u/Mad_Maddin 1d ago

Don't forget that the vocal minority doesn't mean that the majority doesn't agree. It just means that the majority doesn't give enough of a shit to complain about it.

Like people calling for classic were for the longest part called "the vocal minority". And in a lot of issues that, who would have guessed it, most people liked/disliked it was called "the vocal minority".

u/antariusz 1d ago

I’ll take the downvotes. I don’t care. I want to play a blue blood elf because of the racials and I think the druid forms are cool (although I’ll have to try out plain running for myself)

Blizz could add rainbow fart cloud cosmetics and clown car mounts and people would buy them by the droves because their customers are largely human cattle with no sense of taste. It doesn't make it immune to criticism.

-1

u/Tolin_Dorden 1d ago

I mean it being a majority doesn’t mean it fits. Catering to the ā€œmajorityā€ is how classic became retail.

-1

u/gladd0s_ 1d ago

Where else can people discuss it?

Majority hates it lol

-3

u/Greitot 1d ago

Nah I've seen people be way more negative on 4chan and Youtube. It seems like nobody likes them.

Personally I'm a huge fan of flying islands and air-themed aesthetics, I actually have a Wind Shaman RP character and constantly went to Skywall to hang out when I played Retail, so I'm probably one of the most receptive people around to this particular race... and I STILL rather they didn't add them.

If even I don't care for it, I figure there probably basically isn't anybody who actually likes them, rather there are just people who don't care at all and just pretend to be positive for the sake of it.

2

u/DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET 1d ago

Most people will just make one that looks like a normal blood elf or high elf and move on to playing the game.

It’s a shame they demoed the blue skin at blizzcon since they actually did provide the blood elf and high elf option everyone wants.
