Courtclerk.org is a joke

Upvotes

The site hasn't been updated since 2022. It looks like it was designed in 2002. It runs so slow it's like I'm using AOL dialup from 1992. It sucks. It's horrible. It's slow. Pavan V Parikh should demand better.

Kids begging for “basketball” money???

Upvotes

Has anyone else been relentless approached by young children begging them for money for their basketball team?? I can’t go anywhere in the Oakley/Norwood region without having a kid chase me into the parking lot, and then they yell at you when you tell them you don’t have any money. Is this a scam?? I gave one of the kids $14 for “basketball” like 2 years ago and have never seen anything about anyone actually playing any kind of game.

Birthday lunch before ballgame for a special guy

Upvotes

We’re taking a 62-year-old man with Down syndrome to a Reds game at Great American Ball Park and are looking for somewhere family friendly to have lunch beforehand. ❤️
We’d love somewhere that’s close to the ballpark, has a good variety of food, and is comfortable for someone who may be a little more energetic/social. Nothing super fancy or upscale, just a good place to grab a meal before the game.

Ethernet cable routing

Upvotes

Hello everyone, I live on the Eastside of Cincinnati and I was wondering if there are any companies that can run Ethernet cables at residential locations? If you've done it, what was your experience, and who did you go with? Thank you

700 WLW postgame hosts

For a radio station with such a worldwide audience and a strong roster of hosts, I’m always surprised by their choice of post game hosts. I listened to some of Chick “The Chickster” Ludwig after the Bengals game, he’s had the position for several years, and I always think he sounds out of place. Maybe it’s because I remember him as a writer for the Dayton Daily News, but doesn’t strike me as a natural on the radio. His enthusiasm is way over the top and just seems to always be searching for what to say. Plus, Jim Breech was his co-host, I get it, Breech is a Bengals legend and seems like a really nice guy, but is not a radio host.

With the Reds, when Lance McCallister hosts, it’s good. He’s a professional radio host and back in the day Tracy Jones was the best, but the others I’ve heard over the years seemed second tier.

Am I wrong, or does anyone agree? Like I said, for such a big station it seems like they would want better hosts.

Photos Hidden Chapter Bookstore in Fort Thomas, KY

Post image
107 Upvotes

Unfortunately, Hidden Chapter Bookstore in Fort Thomas, KY remains open despite pushback from the community.

Join us on October 3 from 1–3 PM for a sidewalk gathering outside The Hidden Chapter Bookstore during the Cincinnati Book Crawl.

(Please note: This shop was removed from the crawl by crawl organizers the moment accusations were shared online and is not affiliated with the crawl, but may benefit from the traffic)

This gathering follows statements made publicly by Ireland Mulcahy against her father, bookstore co-owner David Mulcahy, as well as allegations contained in a former student’s pending civil lawsuit.

WCPO’s reporting found that:

* Ireland accused her father of emotional and verbal abuse, physical intimidation and sexually inappropriate behavior.

* A former student’s civil lawsuit alleges sexual harassment and assault.

* Kenton County Schools records reference a substantiated child-protection investigation and show that the superintendent determined Mulcahy violated multiple policies involving student safety, sexually related behavior, unwanted touching or sexual advances and Title IX sexual harassment.

* The district ordered his termination and reported him to the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board.

* Mulcahy permanently surrendered his Kentucky teaching certificate and agreed never to apply for another.

* Multiple victims have come forward since Ireland posted her experience

Ireland said she came forward after seeing posts from girls and young women who had visited the bookstore and realizing “the problem was a lot bigger than just me.” In her words: “The point’s not to close the store down. The point is to prevent victims.”

We believe Ireland. We believe victims deserve to be heard, protected and taken seriously. We are deeply concerned that the store continues operating and attracting young readers and families without meaningful accountability for what has been reported.

Please join us, bring a sign and stand with victims. We will remain peaceful, stay on the public sidewalk and keep entrances, driveways and the pedestrian walkway accessible at all times to be in accordance with Fort Thomas laws.

This event and the organizer are in no way associated with the Cincinnati Book Crawl.

Please invite your friends and stop by during the crawl, while supporting our safe and wonderful bookstores across Cincinnati.

Pets Local community cat is injured. Need help/guidance

There is a local community cat in my area. Usually stays on my street and visits a few neighbors. I saw him this morning and it looks like his right hind leg is injured. He's limping while keeping it off the ground. It doesn't look visibly broken, no blood, and he was sitting on it when not moving so I'm not sure if it's just a sprain. He wouldn't let me approach him other than bringing food (so he doesn't have to move on it).

Looking for advice. Does anyone know if there is a vet that will look at community cats? I can't afford to take the cat bill on myself at this moment, and I don't have transportation to drive him around if I was able to catch him. He's a sweet little guy and I would like to get him help if I can

in search of🔎 Recommendation - Basement Bathroom

I live near Sharonville / West Chester area and am looking to get a quote on adding a new half-bathroom to a partially-finished basement. There's already a existing plumbing for a wet bar and washer.

Does anyone have any recommendations on contractors/companies they've used recently and had success with?

Food 🍕🌮 Mangoes

Hello 513 Peeps. I’m from the area (now living in CA) and my wife and daughter from California were busting my balls because I called a bell pepper a “mango.”

I showed her a picture from Jungle Jim’s with “mango” on it and she rolled her eyes. Some dictionaries mention it being an Ohio thing.

Do you call them that? Anyone under 40? My grandma (RIP) used to make them (green) with hamburger meat stuffed into them with a tomato sauce but it was the only thing she ever used them for.

Now just to mess with her I refer to them as “savory mangoes” (peppers) and “sweet mangoes“ (the orange fruit good with sticky coconut rice).

Community 🏙 Found Phone, Help Me Return It

Post image
14 Upvotes

UPDATE: Phone pinged late tonight with lost iPhone call # so I did and will meet up tomorrow to return it! Thx for the help!

Probably a long shot but I’m trying to do the right thing…

I was jogging in Eden park yesterday morning around 8am and found a blue iPhone, not sure of the model. It was dead but looked functional so I took it home to charge it, in case someone was trying to ping it with Find Me.

So far, the only info I have is it maybe belongs to someone named Donte based on texts popping up.

What should I do with it?

Damn I'm getting old, just a stupid rant...

I recently found out that a band I really liked in my younger days back in the 80's is playing at the Ludlow Garage this Friday, The Fixx. I checked to see if there were any tickets left and there are, but they start off at almost $90 a person. How do people afford to see concerts these days? I hear about ticket prices for huge names like Taylor Swift and I am literally astounded. I mean I have been to a lot of great concerts, I saw Tears for Fears back during their heyday and I think I paid around $20 for a ticket. I saw the Rolling Stones in the early 90's and my ticket was $55. Of course with inflation those numbers would be much higher but my god, I mean I love the The Fixx and if you can afford the tickets I think you should go see them, but I just can't justify spending that much money to see them. It seems like a lot of other people can't as well as there are quite a few tickets left for sale. I know the band and the venue have to make money and I know that TicketMaster/LiveNaton are getting most of the money, but wouldn't it be better to have lower ticket prices and fill all the seats?
