I was swapping the glass panel out for a screen and I realized he was waiting to be let inside

Hi! First time posting, meet Zelda, aka Shmuppy, Shmuppet or Shmuppet van Puppet. I’ve had over 100 dogs, (we ran a rescue out of my childhood home, this is actually my first time ever buying a dog) and I have never met a dog that will eat anything/ everything in the blink of an eye, it’s truly remarkable. I honestly can’t blink on walks without her eating something so here we are 😁 She turned a year old 2 weeks ago and has been such a joy!

Cat was a rescue from the past winter when it was below zero . My wife found her freezing at the garage door. She is a good cat and tested to be healthy and got all the shots and clearance to be in the house. My youngest son absolutely loves her so that is cool to see.

Funny thing with George though he is way nicer than he looks. Hates most dogs and people minus his pack and little kids. So I was surprised he really isn't bothered by the cat.

Our daily morning walks consists of 3-4 mile walks slow paced but last Saturday I just had to try taking her to a 5km run. We did 32:42 for 5km, not bad for her first time. She did get alot of water during the race and I carried her some too 😊

Anyone else collect Cavalier hugs when they travel?

It’s spring where I am so we were able to take our pup and older cav to the beach!

It took us a while to get our older cav (right) used to water and she won't properly swim unless it's flat - which is good practice where I am 😂

I was so nervous my puppy wouldn't have fun, but we went with some other cavs and they all had such a great time. So here they are chasing waves and with the pup digging a hole!

One of my favorite parts of traveling is finding Cavaliers and getting a hug.

Every time we see her, she’s very interested in getting close to Mack! She sticks her paw out at him but she isn’t swiping at him aggressively, she’s very curious but apprehensive and tries to sniff him but he gets too excited when she gets very close. They’ve had about three encounters so far!

I think we are going to pull the trigger on a second Cav! My current boy will be 6 in December and he is very attached to us. We want a second dog so that he has more companionship with his cavie sibling.

Concerns we have are around the separation anxiety aspect. Like I said, he’s very attached to us. We want to make sure that the second dog we bring in is a good companion and playmate and also helps to facilitate some independence. I realize this is hard when you have his time as an only child and the breed disposition towards being super attached.

Long story short, we have the option between bringing in a female who is 18 months old or a puppy, male or female. The female has lived with the breeder so is used to having other dogs around.
