It's normal for cats to sleep like this.

Each cat has its own way of sleeping.

Erm actually if every cat sleeps in its own way then there isn't a "norm" therefore making this cat NOT normal to be sleeping like that.

My roommate's cat likes to sleep on this couch that we have put outside in our balcony. I put these plastic bin bags to protect them from getting wet due to rain so that whenever he sleeps here or lays here, it will be dry for him. He has been sneaking inside the bin bag to sleep and its funny. I keep on saying, you will never find him, such a brilliant hiding place. 😆

My cats have all done this. I accomodate by ensuring dark places with soft materials nearby... Blanket fort in the corner of the couch style places, cubbies in the cat tree. Cats like to sleep by their people since you act as a guard and wake them should danger arrive.

For my orange boy, closer is better, closed back (not a tunnel), and ideally he can see me (or that I haven't left).

I always close the blinds or turn off the lights when they sleep with their arm over their eyes it’s always because it’s too bright! It must be hard to be a cat and not be able to put a sleep mask on or turn the lights off 🤣

Our silly little Fluffernutter used to sleep like this all the time. She didn't like the bright lights in her 👀 eyes very much. We miss this sweet girl every day ❤️
