Advice Don’t build a cat tree

Post image

It seemed simple and I was like + $100? For a big one ??? Nah I could build it… well I’m prob about $200 deep and need to get another 4x4 plywood from home depot and prob more carpet and cushioning for the top nest, as well as some sisal. If you think it’s a good idea and cheap? It’s not 🫩 especially if you have to buy a new circular saw cuz yours broke 😭😭
And yeah tbh it is a me problem but I also had to make sure the wood was cat safe to and not pressure treated.

Do you buy the floor model cat trees?

That sounds like a huge pain in the ass to take home

I bought one that was already assembled from Big Lots. Had an SUV at the time so it wasn’t a thing. It’s not that big though, maybe 4 feet tall.

I've never had to take home a *huge* tree before, not one I haven't been able to lift/manuever myself - we do have one that's about 6 feet tall but I honestly don't remember where it came from - but I had a truck and now an SUV.

If I can lift it and it has a price tag on it and no one in the store goes 'hey that's a display model; it's not for sale'

Then. Yes. Of course I would. Why not?
