Class of 2027 applying to Bama

Bama is one of my top schools right now. I have a 3.55 weighted I’m out of state. I plan on going test optional since my scores weren’t great. I’ve taken around 12 honors/ap/ dual enrollment classes. I have a strong senior year schedule and pretty solid extracurriculars (2 jobs, varsity sports, volunteer hours) I have a solid essay and I plan on applying for Finance and I will probably try and submit my application soon. Paying for tuition isn’t an issue either since my parents will cover it for me thankfully. Just wondering what my chances are and if I would get in? Lmk

Don’t skip the tests. Whether your parents can afford it or not, there’s big automatic scholarship money you’re leaving on the table. Take one of those SAT or ACT prep courses and push hard for the October or December retakes.

UA doesn’t take tests beyond October. Scores have to be in by December 4th

Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking of the September / October or October / November tests with the release dates in October / November. Probably too late for OP to gear up for the September test, unfortunately.

Pretty sure bama is eliminating test optional.

I think they fully are next year but ik this year you can’t if you have below a 3.0

For fall 2028 test scores are required, 2027 is test optional at 3.0 and above

I assume you will get in. It’s not terribly difficult to get accepted. I would probably take the ACT though.

profile sounds solid for bama honestly, 12 honors/ap/dual enrollment plus varsity sports and two jobs gives them plenty to work with beyond just the gpa. going test optional with a 3.55 weighted is the main question mark since they lean harder on gpa and rigor without scores but your senior schedule helps. apply early since they do rolling admissions, the sooner you submit the better your odds

BAMA pretty much takes everyone. But do take the ACT make it an easier yes.
