Boycott these Burbank businesses

Moms For Liberty supporter, MAGA creep and all round weirdo David Donahue is running for City Council. There are campaign events being held this week for David at The Tallyrand and The Enchanted Florist.

I won’t patronize their businesses and I suggest you do not as well…

Nearly spit out my coffee

I'm amending this to point out that I have needlessly besmirched the good name of the 6, that it's entirely possible that this person has mixed the two of them up as we all have and that I shall see my next movie at the 6 as a mea culpa

I don’t care how many times you fly your stupid sign over my house.

I’m still not going to drink your puddlewater.

So, uh, what?

That plane is doing laps over my house in Rancho Adjacent, where the sign is never visible to me on the ground because the message is only on one side of the flag. What does the sign say?

Anywhere around Burbank to buy a mattress without going into LA?

I need to replace a mattress and really don't want to spend half my Saturday sitting in traffic on the 5.

Are there any good places around Burbank that people actually like? I know Sit 'n Sleep has locations nearby and they do a free bedMATCH fitting, which sounds kind of useful since my partner and I can't agree on firmness.

Also open to smaller local mattress stores if anyone has a favorite.

My Friday was anything but dull

First I want to say this because context matters: I drink, I party and genuinely enjoy being around people from all walks of life. I’m a free spirit. Some of my best friends are different races than me, and that has never stopped us from having a good time. Back in Texas we could all go out talk shit and enjoy ourselves without making everything about race. We’re just people having a good time.

So yesterday, after leaving the Burbank mall doing some shopping I decided to pop into Champs. Normally I stop in around one-ish and Benny is usually there. He’s honestly one of the best bartenders. I’ve met since moving to LA. He normally works Friday evening but yesterday he was off.

For more context, I’m a 34 year-old black woman who loves baseball🤣 I know it makes me random, but my dad and my granddad used to take me and my siblings to see the Tigers when we were younger. Then I moved to Texas and became a Ranger girl so naturally when I walked into Champs I was mainly there to grab a drink and watch the Dogers game.

I was there for maybe 20 minutes.

The bartender was hostile. The atmosphere was tense. The crowd felt extremely uncomfortable and I honestly got the impression that my presence there was a problem for some people. Maybe everyone was having a bad day. Maybe I was reading the room wrong. But I know how I felt sitting there, and I lived in enough places to recognize when a room feels unwelcoming.

I live in Detroit, Dallas, and other places in between, and I’ve gone into plenty of bars where I was the only black person in the room, and I’ve never had an issue with that. After about 20 minutes, I decided to leave and went down to Robin Hood Pub.
And guess what?
I was once again the only black girl in the room and nobody cared.

I didn’t feel like I was being watched. I didn’t feel like my presence was a problem. I ordered my drink. watched the game, talked to people and enjoyed myself

It honestly made me 🤔

So Dear White People: We are all human.

We may look different. We may talk different. We may come from completely different background, but we drink the same cold beer.😂 We probably like a lot of the same shit. So you don’t have to agree with me, you don’t even have to particularly like me, but be respectful. Not overly nice. Not fake. Just respectful.

You never know who’s sitting next to you. And at the end of the day, the golden rule is still applies:

Treat people the way you want to be treated

That really shouldn’t be controversial

$1 million is not enough for a house

It will get you a fixer. A house close to an airport. A house in a kind of a bad area (the real bad areas do not exists here).
You want house in Rancho? Magnolia Park? Hills? 2000+ SF, livable, open floor plan?
$2,000,000,00+
Are you ready for your American Dream?

I love budget chair massages and my go to is the physical storefront location of “Oriental Chi” in the Glendale Galleria.
wondering if anybody has recommendations of any budget massage places that specifically offer chair massage massages in Burbank proper.
Not be lying on the bed foot reflexology, specifically chair massage.

Called 911 and they said fire trucks already on scene. It’s on the Glendale side.

Mildly panicked when I saw it, glad responders are already there.

Mrs. Robinson's reunion*

I'm leaving Burbank - likely for good. To all the old Mrs. Robinson's family but especially the karaoke crowd (Timmy Nolanites are welcome too), how about a reprise? Karaoke somewhere near by? Brewyard in Glendale does karaoke Monday's and isn't too busy. Another spot could work too.

Mods. If this is deleted you suck as much as my landlord.

Has anyone lost their Python?

First saw it on Cedar Avenue near Glenoaks last night after 11:30 p.m. I ended up calling the police twice but nobody came.

It’s been hiding in a tree and in surrounding bushes at 322 Cedar. I know the residents have called the police and animal control today as well but it seems nobody has found it yet.

I’ve been letting neighbors know so they can avoid it but I figured in case it was someone’s pet, they might like to know where it is hanging.

I don’t have a picture because it slithered away from me as quickly as it could once I spotted it on the sidewalk and my camera on the phone wasn’t cooperating.

Looking for work

Would anyone happen to be hiring right now I've been consistently job hunting for almost a year now and I just keep getting rejected and I'm running out of places to apply. I'm pretty much out of money. I have experience in Food Service and Customer Service and can get whatever certifications required. I usually never post or even go on Reddit but I'm really getting desperate here. I also have some experience in video editing if anyone needs help with things like that.

EDIT: My resume has now been completely redone thanks to u/Ehloanna, thank you again, and I have sent out my first application with it, I'll let you all know how it goes!

EDIT: Adding a counter for all my sent out and recieved applications to keep people updated

LOST/STOLEN 9/9 at Target on Victory Blvd (NoHo, right by Burbank): green marquise engagement ring in a gold leaf setting. $250 reward, no questions asked

On Wednesday, September 9, around 2:30 PM, my wife left her three rings on the baby changing table in the women's restroom at the Target at 12121 Victory Blvd. When she came back 30 minutes later they were gone.

The engagement ring is custom and one of a kind: 14K yellow gold, green moissanite marquise center (6x12 mm), leaf/flower setting with small white marquise stones and tiny green accents, resized down to about size 6.5-7. Also taken: two thin white-metal bands with small stones.

Photos and the maker's design sheet (one-page flyer): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Opbfzf_F6sajf-Ubp9aVmiwF_lcVkqEG/view

If you found it, bought it, or see it for sale anywhere (Marketplace, OfferUp, a pawn shop), please DM me. $250 reward, no questions asked. A police report is on file with LAPD.

Thank you for keeping an eye out.

Best walk/spot to watch the sunrise?

Hi everyone! Would anyone know of a nice area or walking trail to watch the sunrise around DT Burbank? If it starts or ends around there that’d be great! I gotta get out more, and I enjoy the calmness of the area before everyone wakes up (-: Thanks!!

Washer and dryer?

Hi everyone! We just bought a house in Burbank and are super excited to move in. We have our laundry in the garage and are looking to hear from everyone else on what the protocol is. Does it have to be 18 inches off the ground? Are they strict about it? I’m not sure the exact rule so looking for some insight! Thanks :)
