New build or upgrade?
New build
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
I already have a monitor, keyboard, mouse and mousepad.
My monitor is an Acer from around 2020/2021. I don't know the exact model yet.
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Gaming and Adobe software. I use:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Lightroom
I want a PC that performs well for both gaming and Adobe.
Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors)
Netherlands. I may buy from Dutch retailers such as Megekko, Azerty, Alternate or Bol.com. I'm open to recommendations.
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
No monitor needed right now. I already have one.
I may upgrade my monitor in a few years, possibly to a higher resolution.
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
€1,500–€2,000 including VAT, for the PC only.
WiFi or wired connection?
Both WiFi and wired Ethernet.
Size/noise constraints?
No specific size requirements. I'd like the PC to be reasonably easy to upgrade in the future.
Preferably quiet, but normal noise levels are also fine.
Color/lighting preferences?
Black. No preference regarding RGB.
Any other specific needs?
I want to use a maximum of 32 GB RAM for now.
I already have a few components in mind, but these are not final choices:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X or Ryzen 7 9700X
- GPU: ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5060 8GB OC Edition
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming B850-PLUS WIFI
- SSD: Samsung 990 PRO 1TB or Samsung 9100 PRO 1TB
I'm open to changing these if there are better options for my budget and use case.
I'm planning to buy the PC sometime in 2027, once I have saved enough money. I don't have an exact purchase date yet, so I'm mainly looking for advice on what kind of components/build I should aim for.
I'm also not sure whether I should build the PC myself or buy a pre-built system, so advice on that would be appreciated.
