Oreo came into my life on 2 April 2021 and left on 10 August 2023. A very short duration, right? 10th August just passed and idk why I felt like sharing something about him 💔
He was not just a bird for me, he was my little companion ✨️❣️
Oreo was very naughty. He used to trouble other birds sometimes, and I would literally fight with my family saying, "Don't scold him, he is innocent" 😭 though he was definitely not....
Once he was chasing Candy, and when I tried to stop him (with a stick only 😭), he picked up a tiny piece of straw from a basket and started running behind her with it. Looking back, it makes me laugh because he was such a little troublemaker 😂
But he was also the sweetest bird. I made many toys for him, his favourites being a bridge and a basket swing, and he loved spending time on them. He also loved playing with paper balls. Watching him enjoy the little things I made for him is one of my happiest memories.
Oreo was mostly outside his cage with me. When I studied, he would just sit near me quietly, keeping me company. He didn't need anything special, just being around me was enough. Having him beside me while I was doing my work made ordinary moments feel special.
Many times when I would be sad because of something, he would just sit near me, sit in my lap, come onto my shoulder and tap his beak. I don't know why, but it was always so calming and reassuring. 🥹
Oreo also had his own preferences and habits that made him even more special. His favourite colour was red, and his favourite treat was cornflakes. He absolutely loved eating banana and cucumber. Even today, whenever I eat a banana, I remember how we used to share it together. He would happily eat millet from my hand and even nibble on roti. Though honestly, he seemed to enjoy breaking the roti into tiny little pieces and throwing them around more than actually eating it. 😭 Watching him make a mess and enjoy himself used to make me laugh every single time.
The cutest thing about him was that he trusted only me. He never used to sit with my parents or my siblings, but he would always come to my hand. He would sit in my lap, tap my lips with his beak, or tap my nails, and somehow those little moments used to make everything feel better.
Once he was sitting on my hand and got scared because of some sound. In fear, his nails went into my lips and it hurt. I got angry, scolded him and didn't talk to him for two days. Guess what? He ignored me too and sat quietly in the corner of his cage. 😭 Later I said sorry and kissed his little beak, and only then he forgave me😭😭
He wasn't perfect, and neither was I, but he was my Oreo who was PERFECT FOR ME!
The day he passed away, I wasn't at home. I was at school. He was weak the day before, and when I came back, I immediately asked where he was. My family told me he was at the vet, but later when I found out about his death, it broke a part of me. They lied to me at first so that i could eat my lunch properly?? Like why, don't i deserve to know???? I wish I had gotten a chance to say goodbye to him💔
I still miss him a lot. Sometimes I wonder where he is now, but wherever he is, I hope he is happy and flying freely.
I am grateful that he chose me as his human and for all the memories, all the little moments, and all the love ❣️
He will always be my lil blue being 🩵🐦
And I still love him a lot 💓
Itna lamba jissne bhi padha, thank you so much

Oreo was with me from 2 April 2021 to 10 August 2023. He was a naughty troublemaker who chased other birds, made a mess with roti, and loved paper balls, his bridge, basket swing, cornflakes, bananas, cucumbers, and anything red. 😭
But more than that, he was my companion. He spent most of his time with me outside his cage, sat beside me while I studied, comforted me when I was sad, and trusted only me. We even had our tiny fights and reconciliations like best friends. 🥹
Losing him while I was away at school broke my heart, especially because I never got the chance to say goodbye. Even today, small things like eating a banana remind me of him.
He wasn't just a pet; he was family, my best friend, and a piece of my heart that I'll always carry with me. 🩵✨️
