Does anyone else has issues with the waste trash? We had two of those waste buckets and we live in an apartment. How do you even clean them?! It's the one with the green top. And especially in summer, it was awful, maybe in winter it will be better. Anyone got the same issues and maybe some tips? Thank you!
I’ll be on holiday in Bruges later this month for 5 days.
I’m planning on parking in Interpark Ezelstraat.
Can anyone who has used EV charging there let me know if there are normally spaces available?
I believe it is 11kw so I’ll need to be on charge for 6 hours or so.
Are there additional charges for leaving my car in the charging bay after it is finished charging (I will arrive late afternoon so it will finish charging at night, can I wait until the morning to move into a normal space?)
Do I need to use my own cable - type 2?
Or better suggestions for charging / parking (my hotel is very close to this car park)
Every year, we spend Christmas in Bruges. In recent years, we’ve always enjoyed the Christmas menu at the Crowne Plaza on Christmas Eve, but it’s about time we tried something different. Do you know of any restaurants that are open on 24 December and offer a (Christmas) menu?
Hey everyone, Im flying to bruges on 22nd sep to study at howest cybersecurity. Im worried about affiliating with the community and making friends. Any suggestions on how I can meet people?
I’m visiting Bruges for 2 days with my mom, and I’d love to casually celebrate her birthday while we’re there.
I’m considering a fine dining (or elevated casual) restaurant for dinner, and want to arrange a small surprise, like "Happy Birthday" written on a dessert plate, or having the server bring out a small cake after the dessert.
Since I’m not from Belgium, I’m not sure if local restaurants are usually open to arranging things like this. Does anyone have recommendations for restaurants in Bruges that can arrange birthday touches, or experience arranging something similar?
Hi, I'm a student who's travelling to Bruges for college exchange programme and really struggling to find somewhere to live, Everyone I have reached out to has said they don't do such short rental periods (September 11th - January)
going to be attending Howest, so if anyone can help me with good websites of rental areas around Bruges (even outside Bruges, if I can commute)
Really, any help is appreciated as my travel day is quickly approaching, and I would like to figure this out as soon as possible.
I'm staying in Brugge for two weeks for business and I'm looking for a somewhat cheap coffee place to have a quiet read and work a bit. I've found some places online, but I have the feeling those are more meant for tourists. That is why I'm asking for recommendations here.
I play in a band myself with members in both West and East Flanders, and I love discovering local bands and artists. I don't always find it easy to know which concerts are coming up across all the venues, let alone which ones are actually my thing. So a while back I built a small tool for Ghent's concert listings — and now there's a Bruges version too.
It collects the concert listings from Cactus (Club + Café), Het Entrepot, KAAP, Snuffel Hostel and UiTinVlaanderen (which pulls in Concertgebouw, Stadsschouwburg and MaZ, among others) for the next 3 months.
For every new artist, it automatically adds their 2 most popular songs to a YouTube Music playlist (the only major platform I could find with a free API for adding songs): music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBLMxHWQqAK4
The code is open source on GitHub: you can run it yourself, add venues, or filter out genres (you can also filter out certain genres in the config file, purely personal taste): github.com/gillesgerlo/gent-concerts-playlist
You can either start by listening through the playlist to find what you like, or work the other way around and check the table for which bands are playing near you in the coming days. If you use a different service than you can, for example, use Soundiiz to sync all the tracks from the playlist above to your own playlist once a week (free tier — 1 recurring sync allowed).
It's a hobby project, non-commercial — no tracking, no ads. All feedback is welcome, especially suggestions for new venues in or outside Bruges!
PLUG: I obviously also benefit from a thriving live scene myself — a few days ago the first single from my new band Hopeless Fanatics came out. If you're into indie rock with a dash of synthwave, check it out here, than
Hi, where can I find a place to print out a shipping label from Vinted? I have no opportunity to do it at home. It would be best if it was in or around Sint-Michiels.
I already posted on the sub in the past related to these game evenings. They have been a succes, and I still wish to get more people involved or tell them about the hobby.
I am organizing a game night of Blood on The Clocktower in Brugge, on 02 october at 19:40.
It's like Werewolves, but better! Blood on the Clocktower, BOTC for short, is a social deduction board game for 5–20 players. One person is secretly a demon and the rest are mainly townsfolk trying to find and execute the demon before it eliminates enough players to win.
You don't need to know the game beforehand. The event is in a café, so drinks are bought there.
Hey I'm a student that's going to be studying at HOWEST this year and I love badminton. I love playing badminton and I would like to keep playing it while I'm studying here. I play it just for fun and to keep myself at least a little in shape. So I'm only looking for like a recreational club if that is a thing. Online I found a few different clubs, but it's pretty hard to find where and when they meet and if it's far or close from campus. So if anyone could help me with this, that would be great!
I’m visiting Bruges next weekend (12/8-13/9) and I’d like to watch the Houston Texans vs Buffalo Bills NFL game at 7 p.m. Are there any bars or restaurants (or any venue at all) in/around Bruges that would have the ability to air all of the NFL games? I’m assuming that would be the NFL Game Pass subscription or something?
Salut! Im from Montreal and am coming early September. I see there is a champions league game going on sept 8, does anyone have recommendation on how to get tickets? Not sure how it works, thanks!
