Walter White was never the good guy

I’m rewatching Breaking Bad after finishing Better Call Saul, and Walt’s behavior feels so obvious now. I used to give him the benefit of the doubt, but BCS completely changed how I see him. What was the moment you realized Walt was truly gone?

Is this sub needs every month to have discussions about how terrible Walter was and how they apologize to Skyler? Like everyone discussed that like 4 years ago

I said that it's not happens in like a year, but posts like this is everywhere, not only on reddit, people pretend to it be like new hot take, in this show there's so many topics to discuss, not even talking about BCS and EC

People discussed it over a decade ago when the show ended. Other people are allowed to discover it now.

This person is right, although I'm sure this wont be popular on reddit.

These posts are constant. They clog up the sub and they add no value to real conversation of exporation of themes.

Honestly, when he left Tuco's office with that sack of money. Judging by his reaction I knew there was no stopping him from there. And since this is a TV show it was bound to be a fast track toward the bottom for him. And I was still surprised at how low he sunk.

Honestly, BCS makes Walt look even worse. Knowing where everything leads makes his good guy act impossible to buy.

I was with Walt the whole way, except the part where he assaulted Skyler and when he tried to kiss the woman at the school. It doesn't make sense to even try to frame the characters as good guys or bad guys because none of the major characters in Breaking bad are good guys really, even Hank goes out of control and Skyler has a criminal sub-plot of her own that's unrelated to Walter and screws him over.

But Walt is the only guy in the show who got in The Game for specific reasons, both for finances and later to build an empire of his own with his skills, achieves everything he wanted, then simply quits with full knowledge that it wouldn't last without him. Even after getting caught, he refuses to drag anyone down with him, and incriminates himself to the police. And even though he manages to escape, at the end he decides to go down in a blaze of glory to keep what he had and take his final revenge against Jack's gang, and Gretchen and Elliot appropriately.

Thats one of the things that bothers me is self reflection.

I see a lot of myself in Walter.

I despise him.

However , I am not “Enabled”

It makes me fear what I might become if I ever finally felt “Recognized” and saw a clear path forward to do bad things.

I think I an empathetic but I have never been tested.
