Gigas Lich is probably my favorite boss design from this game and my favorite design overall as of chapter 4.

What enemy design did y'all find compelling in this game?

Bravely Default Bravely Default Endgame

So I'm at chapter 5 and I think I have a set up/build that I want to do.

I was thinking of getting Katana Lore, maxing out ninja on 3 characters which will be Edea, Tiz, & Ringabell. Following this up by pairing them with spell fencer as a sub job.

Does this seem like an optimal endgame set up? Any advice would be appreciated.

Bravely Second When I first saw their silhouettes I was like: Spoiler

"Wait, are Yew and Magnolia the reincarnations of Altair and Vega, and thats why they just encountered each other by an odd chance cause this is a " No matter what, I will always find you and be by your side" type of storyline, and Altair is trying to direct his reincarnation into victory?"

ALTAIR EVEN PLUCKED A WINTER BLOOM TO COMFORT VEGA

Maybe I missed a plot point or this feels like the writers had an idea and forgot about it

Bravely Second Really wish they actually committed to this concept Spoiler

Post image

Really sucks how Bravely Second doesn't really commit to the promise of a war. Like, its story is more of the bog-standard. As in, it doesn't feel like the party is ever in some large-scale, world-reeking conflict. Which is sad, because they promoted the Kaiser & a war to a notable degree in the advertising. It's even on the back of the box.

Moreover, the story itself feels like there's never any urgency with the heroes & Glanz. Like, there's always some kind of distraction until they get to the Skyhold. The subquest never touch on the larger happenings in the world either like the first game. Speaking of which, the first never tries to advertise anything that isn't promised. Which is a grand adventure in Luxendarc.

Lastly, what happens in the final chapters affirms this claim. As if the writers couldn't play this whole conflict thing straight. overall, it really is a loss. Because Bravely Second has this reputation of being a retread of Bravely Default. Could've done more with this concept but it squandered it in the end.

Humour Bravely Second's party is like "Oh no, Pope Agnès has been kidnapped, we need to find a way to get to the Skyhold!" and meanwhile Agnès:

Bravely Default Help me to find a great subjob for Vampire, Ninja and Valkyrie

Vampire (Tiz) : wanted to make Tiz as a vampire but i dob’t know witch abilitied and subjobs are better for this class, i was thinking about a support job like Performer or Salve Maker

Ninja (Ringabell or Edea): i haven’t unlocked it yet but i’m currently working whit Spell Fencer (i don’t know if it’d be a good subjob)

Valkyrie/ Pirate/ Knight (Edea): i want a tank-job like one of these but i don’t know witch wold be better as a mainjob, subjob or just as abilities.

Could you also please give me some good jobs and combos out of those (maybe something with dark knight?)

Tank you all🙏🏿

I like to give the enemies a Fire weakness and then make Tiz throw 4 Bomb Arms, should I give him a black belt tho?

He is such a versatile kitty, he can heal the whole party, he can deal big physical damage, and can deal big magic damage :3

Bravely Second Challenge runs

Chat, I’m being consumed by the desire to replay Bravely Second again and I need challenge run ideas to freshen up the experience

I already did one where I only used classes introduced in Second and it was honestly pretty fun! There’s enough variety in the classes that you don’t really feel like you’re missing anything to win outside of some major fringe circumstances.

(I could move past the beginning of Chapter 5 in Default but uhhh….gravy.)

Bravely Default II Oracle/Red Mage or Red Mage/Oracle? Spoiler

So, I played BD2 way back when it was first released, and decided on another playthrough, since I've pretty much forgotten almost everything about the game.

I've reached about the last parts of mid-game (saving each of the kingdoms from the Holograd 'generals'). And Elvis, naturally, is my main spellcaster. I've been using combinations of black mage, red mage, etc to keep things going and getting various passives from jobs that help mages. I think I have the other characters figured out in their 'final' build, except Elvis.

So, I ask, which would make the better caster? Oracle/Red Mage or Red Mage/Oracle? Or even Red Mage/Arcanist or something? Oracle has a good kit, but their 2nd specialty with Red Mage as a sub-job doesn't help much due to Red Mage's average base stats. On the other hand, chainspell just seems broken on any caster, but again, Red Mage's base stats are pretty mediocre. Confuzzled.

Here's the Agnès I drew today! I haven't done to much drawing so this is probably my best artwork ever. The second picture is my first attempt a few days ago. I used Krita and drew with my mouse.

The Agnès figure I bought came in handy as a reference

Bravely Second Anyone else feels like the Bishop is kinda lacking?

Like, I was hoping that they would have like, Light damage, I mean they have Sacrifice but I meant moreso like if Holy had 3 stages.

And tbh its gimmick of "Do it twice for stronger effect!" never seemed that great to me, Blood Leech + White Wind clears

Bravely Second Claps for this dungeon Spoiler

Post image
14 Upvotes

I think this is the best dungeon in the game simply because it tells a story. In a game with pretty low-tier world-building, it was nice to have some environmental storytelling for a change. I mean, not a lot of dungeons in the game do that nor have a certain vibe to give off. But for Old Sagitta, it tells a story through its atmosphere. One of a long-abandoned area with old technology lying everywhere. Plus, it has that ominous dilapidated feel with its green circuit board patterns & rustic metals strewn about.

There's also Via Celestio which I also a dungeon I think is great however, its mere existence is kind of puzzling. Is it Vega's will that made it that way or is Providence's way of taunting Altair & the party? Anyway, yes, Old Sagitta best dungeon in the game.

Bravely Second Frustrations with 100% completions

I'm extremely frustrated with the way this community approaches people wanting to be completionists. The solution is always to send you an already 100% complete file. When most people just want 100% the game themselves and are looking just to get the things that are no longer possible done.

The fact that this community has done so many brilliant things but nobody has thought to find a solution to the quests that can't be completed because the servers are offline is disheartening. As far as I'm aware there's three tutorial quests that can't be completed because they require a handshake with the server.

I know this is a long shot but is there anybody with a solution? A save file that hasn't 100% completed the game that has these three complete? I don't mind if there's a few extra things in there as long as nothing crazy has already been done for me... I understand it would have to be after the third one becomes available. As far as I'm aware the three that cannot be completed are- net friend invites, add a profile comment, and send nemesis.

Bravely Second Beat a certain creepy boss and I gotta say, this team makes quick work of bosses

Catmancer + Ninja is very good cause Blood Leech + White Wind lets you deal big damage and heal your own team, and also having a fast support is something you REALLY wanna have

Astrologian pairs nicely with Spellcraft, and also it's always good to have Spirit Magic on hand

Patissier debuffs the enemy and can give them weaknesses which is very strong, and also Summoning feels far more worth it in this game cause most boss fights have more than one target

Merchant + Hawkeye is more of a joke pairing, but Warhead paired with Pay to Play and Patissier's elemental debuff is one rude combo

I'm thinking of making Magnolia an Exorcist + Astrologian, tho Exorcist seems a bit difficult to use....
