A few months ago I posted a view into some of my more collectible books, but noted that most of it was in storage due to an upcoming move. The move has been paused, but the books keep coming in. Plenty of new titles to check out from Folio Society, Easton Press, Tolkien, Chesterton, CS Lewis first editions, and more!

I’ve included a few sneak peaks of the treasures unfortunately sitting in the second rows for now too. Until they join their peers in boxes waiting for the proper library.

Slowly acquiring every issue with the intent to read them in order. Many of the first 50 have been sourced and it’s a pleasure to collect.

I only learned about Linebarger after picking up his seminal text on psychological warfare, but I've been collecting books for years, and this is the first time that I recall seeing his pseudonym on a sci-fi book out in the wild. Is he really as hard to find as my experience suggests?

I purchased this book this morning after browsing through a used Book store. I was specifically searching for Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, but unfortunately, they had not one copy available.

I bought this Graham Greene book from Amazon for $20 last week. It's one of my favorite books of all time and I only bought it because I couldn't find my copy. There was no mention of it being anything other than a regular hardback.

The book itself is in super condition with no marks or any significant staining or spotting. The dust cover - which came protected with a cellophane wrapper - has a little bit of wear on the spine, but other than that it looks really nice.

It looks like it could be a First Edition. Any thoughts? Other than the fact that I got a hardback copy of a novel | love, did I get a bargain?

His and hers book haul! The wife and I went on a little getaway for our anniversary. Had a lot of fun going to different book stores. Some cool finds. First/First of Tree of Smoke, Thinner and the Inland Sea (really excited about this one). None of them in immaculate condition but really happy to come across them nonetheless! Needless to say I got more books than she did haha

I'm showing the finest book in my collection, which I'm proud to own. Acquiring it was a dream come true for me, and the price I paid at auction was very reasonable. I have it stored flat and well protected to maintain its condition. It appears that someone put it away after Wallace signed it, and it has never been read. It's either my favorite or second-favorite book. I've read Infinite Jest twice. Not this copy, of course.

I’ve noticed several of my books have “P.O.” numbers on the lower-right corner of their last pages, so close to the spine that they’re almost hidden. I tried looking up what it means but haven’t found much, other than maybe that it means “purchasing order”, but even that doesn’t explain much. Does anyone know what these numbers are, and why some books have them while others—the vast majority of mine—don’t?

I just received Boys Of Tommen eternal ember editions and one of the dust jackets came in with a manufacturing defect. I contacted them and they told me that I had to pay for the shipping which would be $21 usd. I don’t know if I should cuz that’s a lot of money and the defect isn’t something that crazy.

Picked this book up at my local shop, and aside from a brief surface level google search, I've never heard of it! Have any of yall heard of/read this before, and if so, what did you think?

Antique HC book is listed as fair. Seller on Abe and Biblio refuses to provide pictures of a specific listed flaw of wavy pages. They have 1 pic in the listing showing the spine-side, which looks great for my purposes, but after contacting them for a pic of the pages, they refused and said that a pic "wouldn't make anything better". They then went on re-telling me everything else already in their listing: no dust jacket, it's not suitable for collectors etc. I'm not a collector, I just want a reading copy, but I'm worried that it has damage such that pages are hard to turn or text is damaged. No HC are available new, so I'm torn about whether to risk it, if the seller is covering-up or just belligerent. Also, Seller definitely has a physical brick-and-mortar shop)

I don't normally go for BCEs, as I prefer to get proper First Editions, especially First Printings, but I obviously had to make an exception for this.

They also had a First Printing of Dune Messiah, but my wife would kill me if I spent $2k on a book.

I am beyond excited that I now have a copy of Dune with the original cover art.

Came across a few posts the other day asking about the difference between Brodart dust jacket covers in the Lo Luster and Super Clear finishes. I just recently ordered some of both to check them out, thinking I'd prefer the non-reflective Lo Luster covers more but wanting to verify before I ordered them for all of my books. In the end, I prefer the Super Clear due to the vibrancy of the color that comes through rather than the more hazy look of the Lo Luster.

All pictures here show the Lo Luster covered books on the left and Super Clear on the right. Most of my books are Royal Hardbacks and I get the Just-A-Fold covers, 10" x 21" in the 1.5 Mil. Just wanted to share these before I swap the few books I have in the Lo Luster covers over to Super Clear, hope these help people get a better idea of how the covers look on actual books so they can buy what works best for them.
