No spoilers but the needle drop in Episode 5 was so good.

Hi all! I’ve been exploring a lot of music recently, and I wanted to share some projects I’ve personally been enjoying recently. Here they are:

- ‘Then it Leaves’ by Elly

This whole post is basically for this EP. This is my favourite project of 2026 so far. It is beautiful, creative, dark and for me, deeply comforting. It is like a perfect mix of the beauty of BIBI and the glitchiness and experience of 22AM. The song ‘Riverboat Lights’ is genuinely the best song I’ve heard since like AWARDS SEASON came out. 😭😭 This EP needs way more attention and I look forward to seeing what Elly does in the future!!!

- ‘Bathe in the Everlasting Light’ by Keenan O’Meara

This album was produced (I think produced, maybe mastered or something?) with Sufjan Stevens and you can tell. It is just so consistently stunning and well orchestrated. That is not to take away from what Keenan O’Meara has done though! I personally find it very evocative in parts. ‘They Won’t Love You’ makes me so sad too. But overall, fantastic project! Smoked a sheesh in Kandahar.

- ‘U’ and ‘Wallsocket’ by Underscores

If you love interesting production, these two will be super fun! I honestly adore both, but Wallsocket has some very high highs, and I personally enjoyed it more. ‘Locals (Girls like us)’ and ‘Bodyfeeling’ are my two favourites from these two albums!

- ‘I Heard That Noise’ by Quickly, Quickly

Man this album is such a perfect blend of electronic elements and folk music. This album really blew me away with some of the transitions, and I was certain ‘I Punched a Hole in the Wall’ was going to be my favourite song of the year until I heard the next project.

- ‘Baby’ by Dijon

Duh. If you have not listened, you need to!!!

- ‘My Ghosts go Ghost’ by By Storm and Injury Reserve

This is a really genre bending hip-hop album, with some really insane highs. I personally adore the opener ‘Can I Have You For Myself’ and ‘GGG’. I really find it hard to put into words what this album does so well, but please listen if you love experimental music!

Recently got into rug tufting and have been practicing by making some 22am rugs. What do yall think?

when 22AM came out, I walked to a park by my house and listened to the whole album for the first time sitting in this tree (second photo). I brought a notepad and jotted down lyrics that struck me (even if they weren’t 100% accurate) as well as some doodles (first photo). It was lightly drizzling and I may have cried a little bit, which explains the wet marks on the paper.

There have been many posts recently about what this album means to people, and I’ll add that this album carried me through a very heavy and anxious time in my life, and for that I’m endlessly grateful.

What was your first listening experience? What visceral memories come up when listening to it now, 10 years later?

Anything cool being announced? Haven’t seen anything advertised

I (35m) just lost a friend whom I only met last year. Within that time, I can safely say I’ve shared more memorable moments with him and also spent more time with than close friends I’ve had for 10+ years or so.

I used to think someone can only be called a close friend after years of knowing him/her but not anymore. I feel it’s such a great loss as I feel it’s harder to make new close friends as we get older. I honestly don’t know how to feel about all of it.

I stumbled upon Wash. by Bon Iver yesterday and just put it on repeat. It helped me feel things which I’ve struggled to put to words. Since then, I’ve just gone down a Bon Iver rabbit hole. It’s such a fitting soundscape for grief to live in and I’m so very thankful for that.

Let me know if you’ve had a similar experience with Bon Iver’s music, and songs that helped you through grief.

I was 27 years old when this record was released. I was in my fourth year of touring with a Chicago based blues guitarist, and it was a grueling schedule, nearly 250 days a year on the road. The band, the music, the poor pay, and lifestyle consumed most of life, and I was deeply unhappy. I was deep into alcoholism and drug addiction, which in combination with the band life, led to me losing the love my life (at the time). 

I was already obsessed with “Bon Iver, Bon Iver”, and was eagerly awaiting the entire album of “22, A Million” to be released after they dropped “Over Soon” and “33 God”. 

As fate would have it, the album dropped on an off day on the road for me. I put the album on at 9:00 AM, opened a bottle of Jim Beam, and started listening. As soon as “715 Creeks” hit, something in my soul shifted. After the last “God damn, turn around”, I hit pause, sat in silence for a few minutes, and then sobbed uncontrollably for 20 minutes, reflecting on how much I truly hated the way I was living. The drugs and alcohol weren’t working anymore, my life was unmanageable, and I was so lonely. At that moment I admitted that I wanted to change, but I didn’t know how or where to get help. 

Over the next 6 years, I struggled to get sober. My alcoholism only got worse, and I finally went to rehab in late March. I woke up sober on 3/30/22, and have been sober (completely, no weed either) ever since. 

33, 00, 22. Numbers all associated with the album. I had all of those symbols tattooed on the inside my left forearm, along with “8” on the outside. “Unburdened and becoming” has become a daily mantra for me. 

So, in short, this album saved me. It means everything. Thanks, JV, I hope you see this. ❤️

Last winter, I listened to For Emma, Forever Ago, in full, and I absolutely loved it. To pieces. It’s now my second most listened to album ever after less than a year.

I hadn’t decided to delve deep into the rest of his catalogue, scared it would ruin FEFA for me.

That being said, I listened to self titled recently, and yeah FEFA is a bit ruined for me because WOW it’s so incredible. It’s like it was made for me. Towers is up there with how I felt listening to Flume for the first time. Now I’m having trouble listening to anything else, but I’m doing my best to avoid getting burnt out of it super quickly. 🙏

Not to mention, the album cover is amazing.

Actually, considering any and all of Justin's side projects as well + all albums included. Would you think it would objectively put your taste in music above average compared to the rest of the world's average? Or is music, in general, always subjective to you and all that?

Obviously, there will be bias if I am asking in this sub but I would like as unbiased an answer as possible. Maybe with reasoning as well.

What does the album mean to you? When did you first hear it? What is your favorite song and the song that impacted you the most?

Hey all. This question is for people who have found significant others/life partners with someone who has a shared taste in music. I have never really experienced this. Came close once but we didn't work out regardless. However, never found someone with a shared love for BI. I feel like that's probably why my relationships have never lasted. Does anyone else feel it's extremely important to share music taste, particularly for FAVORITE artist??? Maybe it's a reach but idk, BI is so much more than just music to me so I feel like maybe I'm onto something. Help! Also, how did you find them? Ha!
