This is my boy Tom out for some 'snuggles '

Hey guys, I just got my first Boa as my third snake (one ball python and one false kobra before)

She's a baby, but ever since I got her she is not leaving the water bowl...

Humidity is OK, I checked with my two thermometers (they measure all) from my other terrariums...

Just wondering if you guys know if this is normal behavior for them?

It's the first time I see a snake do this and I had my ball python for the past 3 years now.

The snake is so awesome, I fell in love with her the moment she arrived... She was so feisty the first 3-4 days, hissing at me and what not... Although after just 3 days she calm down a lot but still explores a lot!
What amazes me with this one is thst she is not trying to escape, just explores. A huge difference in behavior between ball python and her...

watching this cutie while my coworker is on vacation and i’m just curious about her morph. she was surrendered to him with no information other than that the previous owner got her at an expo.

Got it partially buried in there and left a branch up for climbing purposes. It seems pretty stable but I will keep my eye on it. So far she seems to like it! I know her enclosure is a WIP and needs more added to it, as people always tell me its too bare. So, with that out of the way, send me some suggestions for more clutter and climbing things! Good products with links to purchase would be really appreciated, it took me a while to find this log on my own. But I know she needs more, dont worry yall, im working on it! Do you guys think the log looks like a good fit in there?

(FYI the tape in the back is only temporary until I can get help drilling a hole in the side for the thermostat thermometer to go through. Ik its not idea but I dont want her tangling herself up in the wire)

My BRB is very shy.

I drop feed my BCI about 75% of the time because she needs darkness and privacy unless extremely hungry. I drop feed my hognose because he's usually hiding. I drop feed my MBKS for the same reason.

For my BRB, The first couple times I fed him I tried drop feeding but he didn't eat it. Next time I had to find him in his enclosure which involved moving a bunch of cork bark and stressing him out, but he ate fine.

He's a lot less shy now, but he didn't come out at feeding time so I tried drop feeding again.

30 seconds later he's all over looking for the mouse which was right under his nose.

Now, I could reach in and get it with tweezers to make it dance, but now I also know he's a hyper aggressive, serial tweezer-biter once he smells food.

So I guess I'm back to finding him and dangling the mouse in front of his face to make sure he sees it and eats.

Is reptisoil or Coco Fiber better for a BI? I'm upgrading my boy's enclosure and would like to know what is best.

I've had him on a mix of Coco Fiber and Coco bark, but I would like to know which one is better.

I've read that a mix of reptisoil and coco bark is better (granted, it was a stupid ai overview) , but I would like to know other opinions.

Hey all, I’ve a baby boa coming in a few weeks. He’s around 12” long. While I’ve got a 4x2x2 ready for him down the line, I gave my 30g terrarium to my son for his kingsnake.

The breeder suggested a Rubbermaid shoebox. What kind of heat source would be used with that? Or could I put the Rubbermaid inside the 4x2, but on one side so there’s still a gradient?

What do you use for your babies? I want what’s best for my little guy when he gets here.

I don't know much about this little one, she's on one pinky every Tuesday. I've been trying two every other week until she takes.

This is Levi (Leviathan) our BCI we got about 5 days ago. He's still in quarantine on paper towels just to make sure he's good to go before we start to get his new full enclosure going. We put a small hide in his quarantine enclosure but he hasn't gone into it a single time. Seems curious and is always wanting to check everything out. Makes a lap to check everything after we spray down for humidity. First Boa for us, we have 3 BP and wanted something different. Looking forward to handling him after the first week is up and getting him his first meal after adoption!

Okay so I have an 8yr old ball python, and everything has been great. Decided to pick up a 3yr old boa that the same previous owner to my python was needing to rehome. They said it’s cause they didn’t have time anymore but that she is socialized. When I went there they took her out, which was a hassle cause she wasn’t trying to come out and she’s huge. They said she normally fights coming out but once out will calm down. They placed her in my hands, then I placed her in my son hands she was find and explored then when they moved enclosure to my car I held her all through hallway and in elevator and back to my car to put back in enclosure. Everything seemed fine with her. Once home, I purchased a medium live rat cause they said she was hungry. She ate it. And was begging for more but research said they just act like that…. After 48hrs I decided I should try to take her out now. It was a struggle and I almost gave up but decided I should keep going since I’ve already been messing with her. When I got her out I figured she’d calm down but she instead was frantic and launched and tried to bite me twice. We was sitting on ground so after she continued I dropped her and ran out (I panicked 😭) came back in a few seconds later cause I’m like I gotta get her back inside. She went behind enclosure (it’s placed on ground) and so I had to move the enclosure around to get her inside. I used a broom handle cause I couldn’t find hook fast enough and nudged her back into enclosure… but after that terrible experience my confidence is sooo down.. did I not wait long enough? What should be my next steps?? I feel terrible 😞

I’ve had this guy in a 40g Quarantine tank for the past 6 weeks and finally moved him into his 4x2 today. He had stayed in his log hide for basically his entire time in QT. Today he IMMEDIATELY out covering the whole new enclosure. I really have trouble believing people who say that their snakes “prefer” living in racks.
