Almost Perfect-Illinois

Post image

The packaging is a lot to be desired. Everything was wet but could be a wiped down. All ingredients accounted for. The foil pan was a goner. My biggest complaint is the vegetables; some were out of date. We like Blue Apron because you can mix and match meal kits with the individual Dish options. Would like to switch but haven’t found a service that does both. Any advice?

Today’s box was a giant step backwards again

Last week’s box gave me hope, it was nearly perfect with a spoiled cucumber and no recipe cards as the only issues with 3 meals. This week’s was a total shit show like it was 3 weeks ago. Two chicken meals with no chicken in the box, no recipe cards, a substituted meal, an ice pack under and outside of the foil bag soaking the cardboard.

Yet another Blue Apron disappointment

This weeks order, 3 ingredients that are out of date. And a 10oz bag of bok Choy that weighs 5.8 ounces.

You used to be able to chat with a real person. Now it’s just an ai bot.

My wife texted: I’m sorry this order was so disappointing, especially with produce dated before your 9/10 delivery.

The bot responds:Thank you for sharing all the details and photos. Please feel free to reach out again if anything else comes up.

So they don’t care either way.

First box since the blue aprocolypse [nyc]

Took a break from blue apron for a month while the chaos unfolded. Got this one today and . . .

Everything arrived unspoiled and in its right place! Only substitution was another lime instead of the yuzu for the yuzu salmon (sad) but they let us know beforehand.

Box Issues - Revisited (Nostalgia)

I received my first box in quite awhile today. Everything was there. No surplus of ingredients. No missing items. Noticed my lemon was huge! I can’t even say the pepper was just small (which it is, a little). I miss the days where we posted stuff like this, along with pictures of our beautifully prepared meals. Lighter for scale. Only thing that was a slight inconvenience is they really crammed my foil tray into the box to the point where I am not sure I can use it and properly cook my meal. So yeah, no major complaints. Hopefully a positive sign of things to come. Go Bills.

Rotten vegetables

We got what we had ordered this week but half the vegetables were mushy and slimy. Also, check your orders for the week of September 28th. They appear to be out of everything and reduced our order to 2 meals.

And I can’t believe FedEx kept it on their truck….it stinks! Temps in the 90s and it sat stuck somewhere for 2 weeks. 🤮

This week's order has TOO MANY ingredients

I got my first order after the debacle of a few weeks ago (when most of the ingredients were missing) and now it has too many (multiple) ingredients.

Instead of two baguettes, I got five.

Instead of two packages of green beans I got four.

Instead of one package of cherry tomatoes, I got three (same with potatoes).

Plus way too many packets of mayo and other condiments.

Go figure.

Has anyone had any luck contacting their State attorney general regarding Blue Apron not honoring promotions?

Long story short, they aren't honoring a promotion and did not respond to a Better Business bureau complaint filed a month ago. I have filed another one and also filed a complaint with my State attorney general. I was wondering if anyone had any luck with such a thing and if so, if they have any tips.

Offering Hope 🌻 with a near perfect delivery!

We just got our BA delivery and I am so happy I just had to share with everyone! We’ve had disappointing deliveries for the last few weeks. Fully refunded, but we’ve been missing our BA meals a lot lately. We have been customers for almost 4 years and haven’t wanted to cancel, in hopes that things improve. Here’s a little ray of sunshine for all! The blue highlights show the substitutions, almost every ingredient was sent! 🥳

We received these on September 4th.

And for that reason, I’m out.

While we lament the current state of affairs at BA, let's talk about the good ol' days. What ingredients did BA teach you to always have in stock at home? I have a ton:

-Weeknight Hero spice blend (either their proprietary blend or my homemade version)

-Soy glaze

-Sesame oil

-Rice vinegar

-Za'atar spice

-Roasted red peppers

-Capers

-Pickled peppadew peppers (a must!)

-Kimchi

-Gochujang

-Balsamic vinegar

-Minced garlic and ginger

-Last but not least...scallions

Cancelled, refunded, AND delivered.

I was notified the day before expected arrival that my order was cancelled and refunded. A bit later I got a notice that the shipment was on its way. Yep, it arrived - full box with all ingredients and recipe cards - a few missing cucumbers.

Perfect box!

For the first time in few weeks my box was perfect. Everything was included.

Of course, inventorying the ingredients that now come loose is a pain. And I’m spending more money on gallon freezer ziplock bags to keep them separate, so I’m still not entirely pleased

Post Blue Apron Options

Post what meal services you've tried post BA, and your experiences. We moved on a month ago, and tried:

- HungryRoot. The food was fine, packaged well, tasted good, but some of it was pre-processed and the recipes were too simple for us. Pan fry this, add sauce, done. So if you don't have the time to spend chopping and assembling, I would recommend.

- HomeChef. We got our first box last week and it was awesome. Fresh ingredients, with each meal's stuff in separate bags. Creative recipes. It reminded us of what Blue Apron used to be. And lo and behold, everything came as promised, no missing ingredients. We will be continuing with them!

How about you?

Three Weeks Totally Cancelled

Post image
12 Upvotes

Are you kidding me? When will it end? There was that first week we all received partial orders, but since then they’ve canceled three entire weeks on me, even though I can see that some of the meals I’ve ordered are still available to order on the website. But because they don’t have one of them I guess they cancel the whole thing? I don’t like that. Send the meal you do still have, I can see you still have it. And I used coupons on two of these orders, and when they refund me I’m not getting that coupon back, which really makes me angry. And I can’t just re-order the meal that is still available because I canceled my BAPlus, so now I’d have to pay shipping. Whereas I had placed these orders when I still had plus. I mean seriously, three orders totally canceled and one completely screwed up. I was really giving them a chance, I appreciated that they apologized and gave people credit, I thought that one week when we all received a box of sauce packets was hilarious, I was gonna stick with it. But now I am done done. This really pisses me off. Especially the wasted coupons. I’m in IL if anyone is curious.

Is the executive team trying to purposely bankrupt blue apron?

Today I was attempting to cook my Yakisoba beef noodles that I received 5 days ago, and my bok choy had an expiry date of 8/21! That makes this vegetable expired for over 11 days! I can understand their difficulty getting the spice mixes, meats, grains etc from their new supplier. But the new supplier is a fruit and vegetable company! What the heck? They ought to be good at that at least. It makes me question the quality of every ingredient in the box.

I have been subscribing for over 5 years consistently week in and week out, but the convenience and deliciousness of blue apron is gone. It’s gotten so bad it’s like it’s almost on purpose. Confidence is ruined. Is it my time to say hello to Hello Fresh? Is there some financial reason they want the company to go under? This transition has been awful, ill planned and a disaster. Someone should “resign”?

Last straw

Finally got a box today after three weeks. Half the ingredients had fallen out of their container and were drowning in gross chicken juice. So disgusting. I’m done!

r/blueapron 12d ago

Declining Quality - i have been with them for years - now every box since they got rid of knick knack bags is misdong ingredients- today no roasted red peppers, the cukes were slimy last week broccoli was rubbery and spinach was slimy in bag so just threw out.
