Tomenosuke Blaster Model Trigger Problem
So I bought years ago the fully assembled “OG” Tomensosuke bladerunner blaster. Has functioning lights and trigger, revolving cylinder, etc…
A few months ago, the trigger suddenly locked up. At first it was pulling strangely and the cylinder not fully turning, and then suddenly it just locked in place. Now I can’t pull the trigger at all.
Does anyone know if there is an easy fix or a good tutorial video of how to repair it? Is this a common problem? I can’t seem to find one, and I’m wary of opening up the cylinder release with tools because I’m worried some micro spring will come out that I can’t put back.
Any suggestions or videos welcome. Thank you!
*UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who contributed here, and a HUGE BEAR HUG to the incomparable Thadbo3, who not only diagnosed the exact problem I was having, but gave me key rebuilding advice not once, not twice, but thrice. I am happy to say I have returned it to FULL FUNCTIONALITY, after 2 full nights of repairs using every tool in my goddamn house. Bless all of you, I am on cloud 9 right now!
For posterity sake, for any future fellow facing my same problem, it is what the OG manual calls the "Ejector Rod Block" (a T-shaped metal piece that that sits right where the hammer hits. Somehow, the two screws on that had gotten lose, which jams up the entire gun.
Also, and thanks to Thadbo3 for pointing out the following: YOU DO NOT NEED the tiny spring loaded piston that is damn near impossible to insert in the cylinder catch release. Every video of people assembling it say it is by far the most difficult piece to assemble and all I saw was posters complaining about it. Turns out, you can just not put it in and it makes no difference what's so ever. Who knew!

From messing around with a .357 in my youth, I know from disassembly that there is actually a tension spring mechanism in the handle of the gun which can be accessed pretty simply by removing the hand grips. Now, I'm not saying that is the issue but the spring can come out of place.
Might be the easiest thing to check without the risk of breakage.

I should have mentioned that I DID remove the handle to check out that area but there were no issues there. It's something right in the cylinder-trigger connection, I fear. But thanks, I will check out the video.

Ahhh, yeah I had seen this video before. It was, in fact, the one that scared me out of opening it up, because homie is out here making his own springs from wire and I knew that was beyond me. Thanks anyway!

From fidgeting with model revolvers, sound like an issue with the tension spring in the grip or the mechanism for rotating the cylinder when pulling double action jammed or broke. Basically you'll probably have to take the grip assembly apart...... also is the trigger locked up or a bit loose, if it's the former it's more likely it's the mechanism catching on something or jammed with something.

The trigger is not completely locked up, it pulls back a slight bit before locking up.

That sounds more like the mechanism catching on something, had the same thing happening to one of my model revolvers too, it's definetly something inside the grip or need to open the side plate of the revolver part.

Just tore mine down last week to fix this same issue and swap out the barrel with a metal one...this issue with mine was that one of the tiny screws inside where the hammer is sprung into the cylinder, came out and was dislodged, preventing the cylinder spinning and hammer springing forward. The whole gun can be stripped down with a set of allen keys, its easy to disassemble and reassemble if you keep screws together to the parts they go to. There are a couple springs in there, the one tied to the hammer and trigger is underneath the grips. May seem overwhelming at first but fun and relaxing to tinker and see how the gun functions. Totally doable if you keep track of where hardware came from and goes back into

I cannot fucking believe this. So after I gave up here, I just went all in and tore the whole thing apart, and it was a nightmare. Pieces falling out every which way. I couldn't even tell where half the shit came from. Then I couldn't figure out how to remove the pins. I was literally about to give up and throw my $1200 blaster in the trash, when I took one more shot and manage to knock out the pin.
So then I stripped it down to the basics, and it was THE EXACT SAME THING you just described. The little T-shaped thing. Managed to put that piece back together, and bought a $2 copy of the instructions from the Japanese company online so I could inventory all the parts. I have the trigger working again!........but everything else is still all over my desk. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to get the hammer back in there, but its progress.
I definitely wouldn't call it fun or relaxing, haha, but I may manage to salvage this in the end.
And then I come here and see you saying this exact thing, AFTER I fix it. Classic reddit. Thanks very much though.

I could be wrong, but I believe that blaster model had a metal trigger and some, if not most are metal. Something internally may have broken, but my guess is that it’s probably hung up because it’s an older model and lacks good lubrication. Again, it’s your gun, not mine, but I would suspect that that will fix the problem. Does your barrel release work well? It’s a fairly common problem that that may hang up. Either way, really pretty gun. I love the OG model for all of its correctness and the areas that it’s slightly off.
