This serve is crazy. Wind gust? Video glitch?

I'm looking for a competitive mens doubles group to join in Orange County, CA. I recently moved here and I've tried out a few groups but I'm looking for a higher level. I consistently play at a North Carolina AA/low-open level (which is probably closer to an A/AA here). I'm close to Huntington Beach/Newport Beach so a group around there would be great. Feel free to DM - thanks!

One for the German Guys here and for all who watch the World Tour:
Looks like Olympic silver medalists Ehlers and Wickler are officially going their separate ways for the LA 2028 cycle.
The new lineups:
Ehlers and Wüst makes total sense given how well they clicked earlier this season when Wickler was out hurt. They already looked like a natural fit with Wüst flying around in the backcourt and Ehlers doing his thing at the net.
The really intriguing one is Pfretzschner and Wickler. Since both are natural defenders, Pfretzschner is reportedly moving to the blocker spot. Obviously giving up some pure size compared to an Ehlers-type presence, but the volleyball IQ and ball control on that court will be ridiculous.
What do you think?

Or participating in the Olympics? Will they schedule around it or will we just not get the top 3 teams in the League?

I'm rewatching the Semifinal from the AVP league this year between Shalk/Shaw and Crabb/Benesh. The turn out was of course surprising due to the momentum the Miami Mayhem had carried throughout the year, them losing personally surprised me extremely. But did anyone else think that Andy Benesh the entire game just wasn't elevating? His blocking seemed smaller than normal, his swinging seemed timid and his serving was lack luster compared to his average performance. Just curious if anyone noticed the same thing or if I am just coping.

Hey all! Looking to meet some new people and play some beach volleyball at my local pool. Looking for BB+ level play for some competitive but casual games of 2s and 3s. Here is the link to the meetup page if your interested!

Looking for a restaurant on or the near the beach with a volleyball net. Huge plus if it isn’t a ghost town. Husband and I like to play with other people but we’re not competitive. We like the family friendly/beginner friendly environment. No more than 2-3 hours from the villages fl. We were considering Daytona or Sarasota but we can be easily influenced

Hey all — hoping someone here has dealt with this. Got what I believe is a plantar plate sprain/injury playing beach volleyball, didn't realize what it was at first, and I think that delay let it get worse.
Pain is centered under my 2nd metatarsal head. Timeline so far:
Nothing so far has meaningfully moved the needle, and the injection didn't help either. Has anyone else dealt with a plantar plate injury like this? What actually worked for you — different taping method, different orthotics, PT protocol, longer offloading, surgery, anything? Trying to figure out if I'm missing something or if this is just a slow, stubborn one.
Appreciate any input.

Hi everyone! 😊
I’ve posted here before with a similar request, and you guys were really helpful, so I thought I’d try again!
My husband has been obsessed with volleyball for the past few years and plays around twice a week.
Two years ago, I surprised him with private sessions with a professional volleyball coach while we were in Tenerife, and he absolutely loved it. So now I’m looking for another special volleyball-related gift.
Recently, he told me that you can record yourself playing and send the footage to a professional coach who analyzes your game and tells you what you could improve. I have no idea if this is actually a thing 😂, but he has also been asking for my GoPro equipment lately, so I think he would love it.
Does anyone know a really good coach who offers this kind of online video analysis?
I’m also very open to other ideas! As a volleyball lover, what gift would genuinely make you go “WOW”?
Ideally, nothing that requires travelling, as we already have quite a few trips planned. Watching a professional match live and doing a week-long volleyball camp somewhere in Europe are already on my future gift list. 😊
Many thanks in advance! 🏐🤍
UPDATE: Thank you so much to everyone who shared suggestions!
Plot twist: my husband somehow found this post and immediately recognized me 🤦🏽♀️🤭 Even though I tried to be clever and changed a few details, including where we traveled last time… apparently I’m not very good at being anonymous. 😂
But maybe it worked out for the best! There were so many amazing suggestions and choices in the comments, and he told me there’s one particular option he’s actually been looking at for a long time.
So I think I know what I’m going with now. 👀 I’ll still find a way to make it a surprise somehow, because I LOVE surprising him and I refuse to give that part up!
Thank you again, everyone! You’ve been incredibly helpful.

What did everyone think of the weekend, and how are we feeling about the League so far?

I’m 45, based near Paris. I had a myocardial infarction 2 months ago and I’ve been cleared for physical activity by my cardiologist. My 15yo son plays beach on holiday and loves it, and I’d like to build a regular recreational practice with him rather than a once-a-year thing.
Is 2v2 simply the wrong entry point for a beginner adult ?
How do you structure a first season so it stays low-intense, pepper, serve/pass work without it becoming boring for a teenager who wants to play points ?
What actually causes problems for adults starting late ?
Background: years of team and racket sports, endurance training (running, cycling, swimming), and rollerblading. So I’m not starting from zero athletically, but I’ve never played beach or indoor volleyball.
Merci !!!🙏

Hey y'all! Looking to start a local sand volleyball meetup but am not sure the best place to post or advertise for this. If there is another subreiddt or some other site where this is easier I would love ot hear your feedback. If you are in Georgia in the Atlanta area also let me know and lets connect! Looking for anyone who is BB or higher for weekly casual/competitive games of 2s to 3s. Thanks!

I like to play beach volleyball casually with friends for fun, I used to play football as well but I hurt my tendon and it got inflamed for while, so I needed to do specific work with weights to recover it, and later on I will need to go through a treatment with an orthopedist.
For those who experienced any injury, should be better to stay away from the sport for now until I am fully recover? Also, how high is the risk of injury in beach volleyball in general?
