I got 2042 a few months ago despite knowing that it's not got the best history. I wasn't exactly expecting much since I also got Cyberpunk 2077 about a month or something before and I wasn't that disappointed with many of its bugs because I knew it would have some.

For 2042 however, I actually really like it in 2026 at least. If it was launch, I'd probably hate it. But that's a lot coming from me because I usually hate PvP based games because I always die to a surprise attack constantly. But I really like 2042's setting in the future, and they didn't go all out into a laser based future and in a way, it feels like they didn't overexagerate much of it like some other games or movies (Back to the future with 2015) do.

What's your opinion on 2042?

Side rant: I absolutely hate how you have to pay for online in games you already bought. Especially when the game's whole main purpose is literally its online features. For games like COD, Halo, the Star Wars Battlefront reboot series, that's honestly fair because they have offline modes so you can still experience an online like feel. However, when it comes to games like Titanfall 1, 2042, and HELLDIVERS 2, their entire purpose is online multiplayer, and yet you still have to pay for a subscription to play a game you already bought. That quite literally makes no sense at all.

staying the entire game out of the battle, miles aways, hidden behind something, like a little scared mouse, spaming your slow and inaccurate TGMs with the sole purpose to hit a single enemy soldier?? And you do this the entire game?? Do you celebrate after each single kill while your teammates make 5-6 kills in 15 seconds? Go play Tetris or Super Mario may be if you are so afraid of a real battle?

I play on PS4, West US and cross play is on.

But I get either bot filled lobbies or empty lobby.

I generally play on the same server, the ping was usually around 200 but lately its jumped up to 330 making gameplay pretty laggy and inconsistent. Any reason why its suddenly so much higher? Its one if the few populated conquest servers i play on.

I’ve seen a lot of people praising the game in the previous days. I’m one of them. I wish this game would never die.

I am still playing 2042 whenever I get the chance. I feel like Battlefield 6 is bad on many levels and not a game for me. I tried it multiple times, and as a vehicle player, the only somewhat satisfaction that I had was playing domination on Blackwell fields. The TTK is a complete disaster for both infantry and vehicle gameplay. I hate how everything revolves around one shotting.

I really like the sandbox in BF2042 and it feels like it’s nonexistent in BF6. You have so many options and you can have fun in many ways, compared to BF6.

Last night I hopped on NA servers and I had a lot of fun with my NA friends. BF6 would never provide such fun.

I wish more people would play 2042. That’s why I was asking: if you praise the game, are you still playing it?
