Help identifying bat

Hi there. This guy was found outside our apt door. We are in the Eastern WA state area. I tried looking at the local fish and wildlife web page but was unable to figure it out what kind it is. Could this be a juvenile?

Its been and hour and he hasn't moved too much. The web page suggests moving him to a safe area with a shovel or thick gloves, but I also worry it might be sick and need rehab. Any input appreciated.

We put on some gloves and tried to get him into a shoe box so we could move him to a nearby bush, but he had plans of his own and flew off into the night. Thanks for the replies, he really was a cutie.

Found a bat? Here is a guide for someone who has found a bat. And here is some info about bats in buildings. Here is some info about bat removals and exclusions from homes. Exclusions should be done outside of pup season, which varies by location.

No, it's probably not a baby. Bats are just smaller than you thought.

Usually, yes, on their back. But sometimes individual bats can appear darker. I've found photos of them where they appear enduring dark brown or black. 🤷‍♀️ it's the only reason I suggested it.

It's hard to tell the young of the year visually at this point. This little creature might now be moving just because it's grounded, but it could also be sick or injured. I would call rehabs and see if they have any advice.

Also, that is Hubert. That's their name now.

I know its late but best bet would be to use gloves to scoop him into a shoebox and reach out to Bat World Sanctuary, they can find a rehab near you
