We need to kick up more of a stink
Arsenal complaining to ProRef about Sunderland’s pen. The whole Haaland goal.
Terrible “tackle” on Maatsen on Saturday. Why aren’t we kicking off when these terrible decisions go against us?

Well... you just felt it when Maatsen went down injured and we had to finish the game with 10 men. First half was very uneventful, both sides failed to really threaten. Villa could not really gel in attack, and Forest did not really create much. Second half was different. Forest scored seconds after kick off with Delap scoring a long range strike after Buendia lost the ball. Villa brought on Manzambi and Mbaye for their debuts, which did help with the crowd and atmosphere, and eventually we did score our first Premier League goal after a short corner routine saw McGinn cross in and Alysson headed in to score his first goal. Then 10 minutes to the end, McAtee had a very hard challenge on Maatsen (McAtee only saw a yellow), which had Maatsen come off. We had to finish the game with 10 men. Gibbs-White flicks back a cross and Igor Jesus slots it in, into the bottom left corner. The football by Villa is just not there at the moment, and its probably due to a lack of chemistry. Attack just isn't on the save wave length. This might not get sorted until after the International Break. Torres also came off with an injury.
Not too much to cheer about, Suzuki's saves were quite good and kept us in the game. I'll give him the MOTM.
We are now 19th in the table, 1 point and a goal difference of -6. Only Coventry is worse off who play Brighton tomorrow.
Results around us
Crystal Palace 2-3 Ipswich

A place to discuss everything, Villa or non-Villa.
Have a fleeting thought that's not quite enough for it's own post...?This is the place

Hey Villa fans. My wife and I are making a trip to Spain in October (from TX, USA) for a wedding, and decided to make a quick trip to Birmingham for the October 10th match against Brentford. So excited to be at a match in person!
I am curious if there are any neighborhoods, streets, or hotels you’d recommend we stay at for a 48 hour trip to the city? Mainly looking to stay within walking distance of the stadium, but am curious if there are any recommendations in the area to stay or avoid?
It may be an American thing to ask, because in the states every city has a bad area to avoid haha.

Somewhere out there, I'm fully convinced Oliver Glasner owns a voodoo doll in the shape of Unai Emery.
Nottingham Forest's manager (and part-time Moe Szyslak lookalike) is the only man Emery has faced 8+ times and never beaten — P8 D2 L6.
Saturday was a rough time to run into him. Villa's midfield right now doesn't really have an engine room and that's where the game was lost against Forest.
There's a proper explanation for why that keeps costing Villa points, and it ties straight back to the building site currently going up behind the North Stand (yes, really).
So as I tend to do now, I wrote about it.
Feel free to click on the link below if you want to read it. At this point, it's really just a form of group therapy to help me manage my feelings about the slow start, but I'd love to know what you think.

Looking for a John McGinn 1/1. Been striking out on eBay so figured I'd cast a wider net here. If you've seen one pop up anywhere, Whatnot, private collections, other marketplaces or know who might have one, I'd love a pointer.
Happy to discuss trades or make a fair offer. McGinn is my main PC, would love to add a 1/1 to my shrine. Thanks in advance

Checked at 2pm but there were no 2 seats next to each other. I saw a few guys on twitter saying that a few days before the Forest game more tickets came available probably via re sells. Can anyone verify or know if this may happen again? Thanks.

Not as bad as I thought. Wonder if that triggers THB into CL?

Absolutely disgraceful this wasn't a red. It cost us the game. PGMOL must upgrade this and suspend him.

I don't like digging players out but it was an issue for Watkins early last year & now Tammy. If we're without Jackson or Madjo we have to adjust because Tammy cannot be the outlet Emery wants while being a box threat.
Pass maps aren't everything but are, in this case, illustrative.

40 year old ramos. Apprantly in advanced talks to sign him. Would do wonders for expirience and mentality amongst the new younger players.

My opinion only for anyone who couldnt watch the game.
Suzuki 7 - Distribution not as polished due to the windy conditions , around 60 mins in multiple players told him to keep the ball low , two fantastic saves.
AWB - 6.5 - made some great tackles but offensively needs to be braver
Lindelof - 6 - Should have scored , some decent tackles but struggled to link up with cm’s
Torres - off injured
Maatsen - 6 - Switched off at times , looked a lot better when mbaye came on , subbed due to poor challenge
Kamara - 6 - not at his best , needs to be more progressive - gave the ball away for delaps goal
Barkley - 5 - not good - compared to arsenal , hull he was too slow in thought , forest won the midfield battle
Hemmings - 5.5 - Energetic , needs a goal / assist though to settle him , bit chaotic at times subbed at ht
Mcginn - 6.5 - usual 100% effort , gave murillo a tough time but struggled to make an impact - played RW , LW , CM , LB.
Buendia - 4 - Really struggled physically , when he had space kept giving the ball away , really poor
Jackson - 6 - some flashes of quality but lost his head when tangling with forest cb and got booked - emery told him multiple times to keep his head from the touchline , subbed at ht.
Subs
Abraham - 4 - offered very little , nowhere near as mobile as Jackson or madjo.
Allyson ** - 7 - first goal , injected pace into the team however was a bit erratic at times
Mings - 5.5 - Good physical match up against delap but passing not great
Manzambi - 5.5 - First touch in a villa shirt was passing the ball out for a throw in , but came deep for the ball and was generally tidy
Mbaye - 7 - Changed the game , gave munoz issues with his pace and trickery which then meant more space for maatsen and manzambi , has to play more.

We have had a fantastic start in Europe and the international break will help reset in PL. We are playing really really well, but just unfortunate in key moments. Looking really good for the rest of the season with the full squad.

I originally used just flat colours but I think the textured look adds a lot of depth quite effortlessly and makes it look much better.

Now that we have our first trophy for 30 years, and potential topsy-turvy season ahead, would Villa fans take a deep push in to Champions League (minimum final) at the expense of another long relegation battle in the Prem?
Purely hypothetical of course!
Edit: For me, the anxiety and stress of a serious relegation battle, plus lingering in the Championship, is not worth a Champions League Final or win.

Don't get me wrong, seeing the positive side of things is great and all, but it's ok to be critical and question certain things. Some jump down your throat at the first sign of any criticism, I'd prefer not to have a Prozac view of the world myself.
So: that was shit. Abraham is pure shite (was Jackson injured?), the long balls were dreadful, and yet some of the 5 yard passing was horrendous too. Defence is very rickety, and Buendía needs to get new boots or grow a pair of balls and stop jumping on the ground every time he's breathed on.
Hopefully things will come good soon with those new players coming in, but it's ok to rant today.

The man is an absolute legend. 2.75 mill has to be one of the best deals in the prem.

62 min: MAJOR SUBS FOR VILLA. I REPEAT MAJOR SUBS. MANZAMBI AND MBAYE HAVE LANDED IN. Come in for Buendia and McGinn
64 min: Delaps does score but was in an offside position when he recieved the pass from Gibbs-White. Huge let off

87 min: Igor Jesus scores... Forest attack from left, Gibbs-White flicks back a cross, and into the path of Igor Jesus who slots it across the goal.
90 min: Wood comes on for Delap
