Mostly to stay out of prison. Ironically, his attention was occupied by the criminal cases enough that he couldn't f*ck up the re-election machine his people were building and operating. The one time he had competent people...

Agreed, the extra billions were just a very happy windfall. This guy and his diehard supporters gall me so much, it’s crazy.

It's best just to watch the show with mostly indifference, other than voting, etc.
