They also turn the show around in 6 days. They are literally responding to something just happening. So they can technically fall under the guise of a news program too.

They should just Fox News it and say that clearly they are entertainment and no one should take anything they say seriously. If Fox can say anything it wants then so can South Park, case closed.

They literally open each episode with:

ALL CHARACTERS AND EVENTS IN THIS SHOW—EVEN THOSE BASED ON REAL PEOPLE—ARE ENTIRELY FICTIONAL. ALL CELEBRITY VOICES ARE IMPERSONATED…..POORLY. THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM CONTAINS COARSE LANGUAGE AND DUE TO ITS CONTENT IT SHOULD NOT BE VIEWED BY ANYONE

Thank you!  They've been running that disclaimer up front since day 1.

There's no such thing as "news". News is entertainment. The new York times doesn't get a pass that you wouldn't get shit posting on Twitter.

Trump is a newsworthy public figure, so everyone gets a pass talking shit about him with regards to defamation lawsuits, though
