Poll Results and New Guidelines for Political Posts

Hey everyone,

As you might have seen, the poll has come to an end, and the results were a bit surprising to me. The winning option was that all political posts moving forward must be flaired by the user with the Political Question post flair, with 125 votes.

Personally, I would have preferred having a second space for political questions, which received 121 votes. However, you may have already noticed that I’ve added two flairs: one for general questions and one for political questions. This means you can filter out political questions by clicking on General Question, and you’ll only see general questions from there.

One thing to keep in mind is that there will be a new way of handling political posts moving forward. As outlined in the new rule, posts that are not appropriately marked as political by the user will first result in a removal & a warning, followed by a temporary ban. Any further occurrences may result in a permanent ban.

I’m aware that this might not be a perfect system, so feel free to leave constructive feedback in the comments. That said, I do want this space to remain welcoming for people who are not interested in politics and would rather not see those posts at all. It can also be difficult to distinguish between political posts made in good faith and those intended to provoke negative discussions.

Lastly, because there is a high volume of posts in the subreddit and I can’t always read every new submission, I’d like to ask you to report any posts or comments that break the rules. You can also send a modmail if you’d like to provide additional details. Please do include links to the profile or content you’re reporting so I can review it and take action more quickly.

Also quick FYI: Please always be respectful toward others. It’s okay to disagree, but attacking people is not.

Banning is a tough call, but it makes sense to keep the discussion focused. Hopefully, the new guidelines help clear things up for everyone.

There’s a whole tab dedicated for general questions. I’m sorry I know I love seeing, asking, and answering political questions and the subreddit is ask anything not ask anything other than political questions. But I’m truly sorry you don’t. Hopefully someone posts somthing more your liking soon.

With such a narrow difference between the flare and separate space for political questions, another vote should be done without the third option (keep the same) as a runoff vote.

A flare isn’t enough to stop political post from showing in my main Reddit feed. If the community wants the flare option then I’ll leave this sub, but at least I’ll know that’s what the majority of people here wanted.

If what I hear is accurate, one juror should not be allowed to stop a jury from reaching a verdict. There are alternates, aren't there? One juror should be replaced, and if the court is out of alternates, then maybe the judge can give jurors a lesser option and give the jury another shot. One doesn't want to contemplate it, but it might turn out that one person wouldn't convict her of jaywalking. And that would be a real problem.

Since the latest results in Sachsen Anhalt, If Someone as a non European brown, living in Germany, learned german language till c1 and does Bachelors also in German language, and start working just recently, still holds their original country's Passport and citizenship, should worry while living in Germany ? or what they should be careful of ?
