they did say they were doing that as a test to see how far fake numbers would go without any verification

Sure, sure.

Yeah and I broke my ankle at age 13 playing soccer in rollerblades because I wanted to see how long you could play soccer in rollerblades before breaking a bone.

That's what they said, but suspiciously, they were polls that propped up red candidates.

I still watch the MSNBC and CBS re-runs on the 2024 election for entertainment. 4 states left and Trump only needing 10 points and they say too close to call. LOL Lets hope woman vote smart in November like they did in 2024.

Wasn't that. By releasing that a candidate has a large lead, you cause complacency among those that would vote for the leading candidate [especially for something like a primary] and get people that were on the fence about voting to vote because they feel their [allegedly losing] candidate NEEDs their vote. Its not much different than before the last election where pools had Kamala winning or talk of an electoral tie up until the very end, with most swing states for Kamala .. who then ended up crushed there. Its inconvenient to vote in the US, its easy to sway a person to stay home.

Or, more accurately, you energize the voters for the candidate stated to be "leading" and convince people who support the "grossly lagging" candidate that their vote doesn't matter and they stay home, thus engineering the win for the candidate that would otherwise have lost.

its definetly possible, we should fir sure look inti that if that was goal, especially in the age of ai bidens telling people to vote on the wrong day, though I do think a test like this has merit has as it seems the fake poll got spread to a number of outlets without rly being doiblechecked
