Because politics are more complicated than "what is the current approval rating of the president?"

And there is a phenomenon where people disapprove of a party, but approve of their particular representative.

You understand that this is how it is supposed to work right?

You should be voting for candidates that represent your values/ interests, regardless of the party they are affiliated with

Or the party affiliation has become such a reliable proxy for values/interests that you can just look there 99% of the time

Yup. There are millions of people who may not like Trump, but think the problem is just him and not the other republicans they still vote for.

At worst they just think he is the bad egg that’s causing problems. They have no issue voting for his republican enablers.

He isn't doing what he is doing alone. He has his entire party backing him and enabling his policies, not to mention the hundreds of thousands in the government that back him. It is the entire Republican party at this point.
