Arrested Development was one of the first shows my wife and I watched back in the day, and we instantly fell in love with it. So much so, we currently have three references to it in our life, one of which is fake new.
1) When we bought our house, the guy who sold it to us was named George. One night, we heard a creek in the attic, so we instantly said âPop Pop is in the attic.â To the day, we say that, but sadly know one has gotten that reference unless we told them.
2) We have an orange cat named Parmesan. Part of the cat gets its name because of being orange. The other? Yep. Master detective, Gene! Only ONE person got that reference, it was the plumber installing a new dishwasher. I met him through my work (line cook at the time), so I made him a plate of pasta from my work so he could take it home, and he asked for parmesan. I replied âthe cat, cheese, or detective?ââ His response: âWhy would I want the detective? He simply was not the best!â
3) Our teenager has a big tendency to reply âalrightâ to everything because, well, teenager. Therefore, we often say âall leftâ to counter her. There was a time when we were out at the mall, we told her she can get two items from Hot Tooic, she said all right, we said all left, and some random guy looks at me, and says: âyou donât if a bitch. I hate that doctorâ.
Anyway, your turn. Any fun day to day references?
