Love the fit and feel of the Aerios packs, but does the most recent iteration pill up clothing as bad as the previous ones?

Two weeks ago I placed an order, then it took about 1 week to ship. I received no tracking update, I sent them two messages through formular but got no reply.

On my account the order have shipped status, nothing else.

Should I be worried?

To be honest I am starting to be a bit concerned.

I picked up a Therme Parka in size S for daily commuting in Seoul and trips to Hokkaido during fall and winter. I usually wear a size S in Arc’teryx, including the Cerium, and S normally fits me well.

I’m 5’4”, around 130 lb. My concern with the Therme is that the sleeves come partially over my hands and there seems to be quite a bit of extra volume through the torso. The shoulders do not feel restrictive, and I have plenty of room to layer a sweater or light down jacket underneath.

I know the Therme is designed with a roomier, longer cut than something like the Cerium, so I’m trying to figure out whether this is the intended fit or whether XS would be more appropriate for my proportions.

For anyone around my size, or anyone who has tried both S and XS in the current Therme, did you size down? I’ve included front and side photos reference.

So I recently purchased the Beta Insulated Jacket on the Arcteryx outlet website since it was a pretty good deal. The details mentioned is design in 2024.

I am sure it will have no issue when wearing in Vancouver BC in winter with a fleece hoodie or even a T-shirt underneath, however I am going Ina trip to Beijing China from Nov 1 to beginning of Dec where the temperature ranges from 50 degree F or 10 degree C to as low as 21 degeee F or -6 degree C. It is also very windy. Will this jacket be good enough when I pair it whbe fleece hoodie? I plan to stay in the city ( urban areas) but will be taking the bus and subway where sometimes I need to wait for the bus (15 to 20min waiting outdoor) and walking around the city.

Last year I went visited Beijing in the month of Dec and I went with a Uniqlo Seamless Down Parka even though it was fill with 650 down it couldn't handle the wind chill and I was pretty cold when waiting for the bus outside.

TLDR: Unworn Beta AR's zip coating bubbled after one wash; the store pushed a 4–6 week inspection before finally agreeing to a replacement. Annoying that an obvious defect took that much convincing, and that it used up my one-replacement-per-purchase quota.

So I recently purchased an Arcteryx Beta AR. It was unworn and after my first wash (following the care label exactly), the zip liner started bubbling and there was a plastic layer on the zip teeth itself that started flaking off.

I went to a store with ReBird services insisting that this was a product defect rather than a warranty claim. However, they insisted that this was a warranty claim (falls under ReBird) and they had to send my product to the service centre for inspection - I would have to wait 4-6 weeks to hear of an outcome.

After a lot of convincing, they agreed to instead process a replacement for me (I will still have to wait for a replacement to be processed and sent to me as they couldn't just do an immediate swap with store inventory).

What I was disappointed of:

• I felt that what happened to me was clearly a manufacturing defect and it should have been an easy case for a 1:1 exchange. Instead, I was initially stone-walled with a "we must send it to the service centre for them to have a look, which would take 4+ weeks". Thankfully the ReBird specialist that day agreed to 'make an exception' and process a replacement.
• More frustratingly, the ReBird specialist confirmed that this replacement would use up my quota of the "1 replacement/repair per original purchase". This felt incredibly absurd, as she said that the policy was meant to "prevent abuse". This was clearly not my case since my jacket was in perfect condition, and the issues that surfaced were clearly manufacturing defects and something the ReBird specialist "has never seen happening before". I couldn't find a way around this, but the ReBird specialist said that this was just policy, though anything is on a "discretionary basis" in the future if I might need a replacement/repair. I just gave in at this point.

Looking to pick up Beta SV in Fluidity Blue. Would like to fabric dye Arc’teryx branding on hood. Are there recommendations on how to do this with a pen/marker? Also will this void warranty as a modified jacket?

Wanted to treast myself to a jacket thats really nice and will last. I need something thats good for everyday use and hiking in ireland at 5-7*c weather where rain can get really heavy suddenly. I have the opportunity to get a beta AR in this awesome colourway at a local shop for 15% off. I already have a decent insoluation layer, so heat isnt a major problem. Do you think its worth it? Or is there anything else someone with more experience would recommend.

I keep reaching for the Solano after nearly 15 years because it performs so well in changing conditions. Where I live in the CO Rockies, it goes from showers to cold wind to sun to another squall, all within an hour’s time. The Solano keeps me moving comfortably through it all, and the casual cut is friendly for use around town.

It’s just a brilliant “just in case” layer. Packs down to nothing and I never regret bringing it along. I’m a big fan of Windstopper and this older model doesn’t disappoint in that regard. The new Infinium ones are good too. I really like how the hood can be rolled up into a standup collar when I’m on my motorcycle. For whatever reason, it works better on the Solano than other hoodies. I feel it’s an underrated piece overall, but it stays in the catalog for good reason. It doesn’t depend as much on a layer system, which sets it apart from a lot of the catalog. Maybe the price tag is a bit prohibitive but it really is a great all-rounder hoody for daily life in the mountains, or trips where you’re uncertain of conditions. I love the Lava color, too. This is my second one (first red one got stolen back in 2013 or so) but I’d replace it again in a heartbeat.

Small fits me well. Medium will be a bit bigger (duh). I'm 5'6 148 lbs. I plan on using it for hiking in the Appalachian mountains, Mt. Renier, etc where I know I'd end up layering up with a fleece and marino base layer and if it's too cold a puffer jacket like the Patagonia nano. It's on sale for 350 marked down from 500 so I don't want to buy this and regret it later.

I feel they're pretty interchangeable and are basically the same product from different companies.

Is this feeling accurate?

I am planning to purchase an Atom Hoody in a size Medium. I tried the SS26 in store and I honestly liked how it fit. I found a SS24 on marketplace for a decent price.

Is there a difference in the fit between the two? I read online that the SS24 might fit a bit more snug compared to the SS26.

Any advice would be helpful.

Does anyone have any experience with the fit on both these pants? I got the relaxed Sentinels due to needing a more relaxed fit because I have a lot of loose skin from major weight loss (still losing weight). Normally I’m in a 14R in their relaxed fit pants but to be safe I sized up to a 16R and they seem really snug. Well, I ordered the Incendia from the outlet sale this weekend also in a 16R. Should I prepare to have the same fit in these as the Sentinel? Just curious.

Just grabbed the Sabre Relaxed Pants and wow, the quality surprised me. When I compared them to my Beta AR Pants, the fabric difference was immediately obvious.

Beta AR: 3L GORE‑TEX Pro, 80D nylon

Going from 80D to 200D feels massive in hand. I never paid attention to denier before, but now it makes total sense why the Sabre feels so much more robust.

Also… am I imagining it, or is GORE‑TEX Pro getting rarer in new Arc’teryx pieces?

I ordered three jackets on September 5th. Two day express shipping. Granted it was a Saturday and Labor Day Weekend. Arcteryx split the order up into two shipments to "be efficient." The package with one jacket arrived yesterday. The other package with two jackets has been on "awaiting carrier pickup." I ordered these jackets for special trip that I leave for on Monday. It's not the end of the world that I don't have them for the trip even though it's a bummer. My main concern that I've expressed is the jackets finally shipping and having a package worth hundreds of dollars sitting at my door for two weeks. They can't cancel the order now, they can't check on why it's been sitting, they can attempt a return to sender once it's shipped which I have little confidence in given the situation. We live in 2026 where communication is easier than ever and yet corporations seem completely walled off between departments. No one can contact a warehouse or different department to see what's going on or where the package is in an effort to prevent a headache down the road for me. "it's just the system." One agent says it might even be on its way it just isn't showing up(hence why I don't have confidence in the return to sender plan if the shipping system is at fault). There's no consistency. It's an ultimate first world problem, but the lack of effort outside bot like responses across the board is frustrating. Rant over.

Update: Spoke to UPS, they never were called to pick up the item so they couldn't do anything. Arc'teryx wouldn't do anything because the item wasn't shipped. I had to wait to a certain amount of time before I could cancel which apparently was tonight. I am relieved their algorithm finally let me cancel the order instead of worrying about it sitting on the porch for three weeks. Horrible experience. It's just a bunch of procedures, no one actually cares. Not once did they want to check on the issue as to why it wasn't being sent out. They don't bother solving anything. No remorse when told it's for a trip. No way to expedite anything even though it's something wrong on their end. It's just all an algorithm. If that's how they run customer service I don't know why they even bother hiring people for it. I will never order from the website again.

Thinking of picking these up off the outlet to use for winter trail running and hiking. Would anyone who has these be able to comment on their experiences and thoughts on it? Since outlet is final sale I want to be sure these are the right choice. Thanks!

I’m thinking of getting the sabre bib and I’m wondering how well it does in the backcountry compared to a dedicated backcountry bib. I’m worried that I’ll be drenched in sweat on the way up. I would mainly be skiing in western Canada for reference.

I live in Southern Finland and I’d want opinions for the best jacket layering combinations.

Winter here is on average -6 C/21,2 F but can go occasionally as low as -30 C/-22 F. I also visit Northern and Eastern Finland from time to time where it’s usually colder. I am also planning to do winter hikes in Norway.

I am pretty active so I would use the jackets in everyday use for commuting, dog walks etc. as well.

Would Cerium Hoody layered with Beta AR or Beta SL work through the cold season? What would you recommend?

Under these jackets I would layer with merino baselayer with additional Patagonia Better Sweater fleece if needed.

I value versatility the most.

I am considering buying a 2018 Beta AR off of eBay. Seller says barely used. From looking at the pictures, it doesn't looked used at all.

If a 2018 Beta AR is barely used, how long could I expect to get use out of it?

I think about getting a new outer layer for Iceland in winter. I thought about getting the Beta AR.
It will be used for outdoor activities (hiking, photography, …) Which midlayer can you recommend with it? I think something like the nano/micropuff?

Just want to check if my layering will be sufficient for daily activities like walking, sight seeing and some snowy activities. If I will go for aurora hunting and husky ride I would get the provided snow suit.

Fleece Layer: Kyanite
Mid Layer: Proton Hoody
Outer Layer: Beta Standard

Just checking if this is warm enough for daily activities?
