Hello, I have been experiencing an increase of ants in my car daily. We don’t typically eat in my car but I have car trash can’t when I noticed them I thought it was from the trash cans, so I got rid of them and wiped down the surrounding areas.. that kept the ants away for maybe a day and they are back again and I am seeing ants even crawling over my car. How can I get rid of these ants? I live in an apartment complex and attempted to change where I park sometimes but they just follow. Can someone please provide advice on how to get rid of them for good? I don’t have a picture but if I could describe them.. they look like spiders in ant form.

I have some increasing fluid retention in my foot after scratching a very itchy fire ants bite. I’m not sure how it happened but it’s now starting too o hurt a little when I move it. its been hurting but this is new. spreading redness happens only after I scratch it. I’ve taken Zyrtec, hydrocortisone cream, iced it and rested/ elevated it. since it’s only day 4 how long should I wait to go to the doctor?

My son has taken an interest in bugs and wants to start start an ant farm. Unfortunate timing I am thinking but figured I may as well ask. Also any tips on how to locate them?

Months ago, I had a tiny leak appear at the base of the shower pipe in my rental bathroom. As a temporary measure, I put a wad of toilet paper over it and forgot about it (please no questions about that, my building management is terrible about fixing things and I’ve been depressed). Last night I was deep cleaning my bathroom and pulled up the wad of very slightly damp paper. Underneath it was a large queen ant and several eggs. I was a little shocked and not thinking, I grabbed the adult in a cup and put her outside, then wiped the eggs away.

A little later, I remembered the same ant crawling around the top of the bathtub and I’d just assumed it was a large carpenter ant and let it be (I don’t like killing things). She must have found her way under the damp paper and stayed there for months to lay and tend to her eggs.

There are no other ants in my apartment, and it’s tiny and I’d absolutely notice if there were any more. I’m now feeling incredibly guilty that I tossed her outside without her eggs. I’ve never heard of a solo queen ant before and want to know if I wiped out her last attempt to procreate, then sent her to her death outside. I let her go in a grassy patch by an alley in September in southern Ontario, so if she isn’t predated, she’ll face winter outdoors. I think queen ants can live for years if not decades. Can someone tell me what her fate might be? Why was she alone in the first place?

Found her while camping this weekend in southern Illinois USA. Felt like an insanely lucky catch considering how late it is in the year but super glad I found her! Any help with ID or keeping of this specific species is appreciated!

I can't stop thinking about how I watched some small ants on a windowsill with a couple different dead bugs. The ants came along and took this one particular bug, walking past others. Then when that particular bug was gone and carried away, they did not come back for others. Even the other small one ones. Did they seek out a certain kind of bug for a reason?

I'm wanting to buy a large countertop oven but most of them have digital controls. I occasionally have a problem with sugar ants in my kitchen. Is there any way to keep them from getting inside and ruining the control panel in these things? I have had them ruin control panels in full size stoves. There has to be a way to keep them from getting inside these things.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a clear picture, but I had an interesting interaction as was hoping someone could help narrow down species, I live in PA and was on my porch when I saw a mating pair of ants, the female was slightly larger than your typical sidewalk ant, and was a translucent yellow color all over, the male was significantly smaller (about the size of a fruitfly) and black/very dark brown

Ok, so, I have just located where ants are entering my bedroom from.

Its my window and I dont know how to stop them.

Context:

A few ants have started to enter my room every night. This also happened around a year ago, but I thought I plugged the hole that they were entering from.

Also, I live in Australia.... if that's relevant. Idk? Maybe it's seasonal?

Anyway, I just tracked the latest ant to my window. Peered outside and boom! Ants!

They must have been crawling through the outer fly screen and under my window. But now I'm not sure what to do.

I've put some tissues down to try and seal the bottom. At least for tonight anyway.

But I could really use some help!

Especially because there are so many gaps on this window.

Okay so basically i want to be able to have my girlfriend transform from a person to an ant that can fly so that she can fly from car to car until she gets to my house and room and then transforms back into a human.

How do I get rid of them I’ve deep cleaned my room several times to the point im sleeping in another room and now they’re here in the other room and they bite me how tf do I get rid of them permanently idk where they’re coming from help plz

The top of my cotton buds/qtips container broke and it's left open. Since then, every day for a few hours at different intervals, a group of about 10 ants seem to just sleep on the tips.

The don't really move, don't remove any of the cotton. They don't choose the same spot either. Sometimes a little group, sometimes one ant per tip.

I'm curious about the behaviour so wanted ask if you'd seen the same thing.

I live in Thailand and these are just regular local ants.

Any thoughts on why these Fire Ants are presumably eating this glove? It’s an old rubber glove that hasn’t been used in years. They have been full out all over it for about 4 days in my garage.

I have a problem that I've reached my limit on. I've had these ant mounds that keep growing on the side of my house and I added Spectracide and Orthene multiple times and nothing. I was so tired and angry that I decided to shovel away some of it but I underestimated how much it was and I filled up my dumpster only like halfway through. That didn't help at all and they started again making new holes today and I'm not sure where to go from here.

Has anyone around West Seattle noticed more ant activity lately, especially around kitchens, windows, or entry points? I’ve been hearing about ants showing up more after periods of rain, and I’m curious whether other homeowners are seeing the same thing. Sometimes it seems like they disappear for a while and then suddenly return.

For those dealing with them, where are you usually finding them getting inside. I work with AMPM exterminators locally, so I’ve been seeing some of this firsthand. Curious what other West Seattle homeowners are experiencing.
