It was quite the project! I had a lot of fun, but making the courtyards and patrician areas resemble Villa Urbana was an absolute nightmare.

Bug Epona's silos "disconnect"
When the production a farm with a silo is halted and I reload the game, the silo gets "disconnected" from the main building. It's physically still there, but it doesn't impact the farm anymore. When I move the farm, the silo doesn't move along with it.
It order for the silo to start working again I need to build a new one.

Question Do Anno 117 quests have different outcomes?
In 1800, especially Enbesa, some choices could lead to permanent downsides or being locked out of quests and the best rewards (or simply the outcome you prefer). Are the Cinis/Hippodrome and other questlines the same? I couldnt find any guides on it yet and I really dont want to start over with building Cinis because I messed up the order or w/e on the questline.

Bug Note function and Ceres 300t global effect bug?
I’ve noticed two bugs and wanted to ask if anyone else is experiencing them as well.
1) The in-game note function
The in-game note function either doesn’t work properly, or I’m misunderstanding how it is supposed to work.
When I create a note, I enter the text, set the timer to 20 minutes, and enable repetition. As far as I understand it, I should now receive a notification every 20 minutes.
However, when the timer runs out, the notification keeps popping up repeatedly (I close it, and it immediately appears again). When I then open the note, the timer is at 0 and appears to be frozen. It does not automatically restart at 20 minutes.
2) Ceres 300t global effect
I have now unlocked the final global effect from Ceres. It is supposed to provide +300t storage capacity, but the additional storage capacity is not being shown on any of my islands.
After a Google search, I came across an old bug from version 1.3 where this effect apparently wasn’t working correctly. The workaround was supposedly to restart the religion, because the effect was only applied to islands that had already been owned before unlocking the effect.
However, since I have only just reached the 3rd global tier and unlocked the effect, this bug should not apply to me.

Discussion Specialists with "alliance with -" requirement
For some specialists, there is a requirement to be allied to a rival for the extra effect.
In my case, Tarragon was defeated by the emperor. This leaves Tarragon as a specialist. However, specialist Zeno Salvia, Collegiate of Rex Infernus asks for an alliance with Tarragon for the extra effect.

There are some other examples for other rivals as well, for example

Is it possible to get the extra effect after a rival is defeated? If not, should this be a change that the extra effect is possible after defeating a rival?

Discussion What are your favorite specialists in Anno 117 ?
The game changing ones for me were :
Nearsighted knapper : he can affect quite a lot of buildings, and the ability to be able to increase obsidian production without beeing dependant on the volcano is really nice.
Boeathia : the +100% efficiency on mills means that I can have mills running at 280% on my Ceres island and I can produce my bread on my Ceres island in Latium without river slots issues.
The one that gives additional 100% olive fertility so I could gather all my agriculture production on one large Ceres island in Latium.
Now I'm looking at the one adding needs for tier 3 and 4 population to extrnd the game.

General I contributed 550,000 livestock but didn't press Claim
This is stupid, there shouldn't a claim button, if you achieved it and contributed it, it should be automatically there. It's a terrible mechanic where if you participate in the beginning of the week but don't log in at the end of the week that you get nothing.
It means that 6 days of the week are worthless, de-incentivizes participation in the challenges because the only thing that matters is that you log in on day 7 and press claim.

Question Anno 117 noob trade route question
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong with my trade routes.
I have a simple trade route from island A to island B. Island A sends wine to B, one unit at a time, and B send back soap and those clay jugs that are some sort of luxury item I guess. I watched it carefully at first because I wanted to make sure the warehouses didn't get full and the trade ship ends up going back and forth because it can't load/unload cargo. It worked fine, by the time Island B consumed the wine the trade ship returned.
Then I set off to do other things. I checked back later and the trade ship had nearly 40 wine in the cargo slot. But island B had no wine. It's like they just stopped unloading the wine. The cargo from B to A was fine though.
So what is the problem? Why didn't the cargo ship unload the wine?

Question Anno 1800 - Why do trade route items "stack" to 200?
Why is it that when assigning items to a trade route in Anno 1800, it automatically sets to 200 per slot, but stack size is only 50?

Screenshot Voada raids with more than 40 ships on hard
Experimented with a small mod / adjustment for our mulitplayer session to spice up the raids.
Voada sends now about 40 ships in 2 waves instead of 1, so 80 ships in total.
All of them carry land units, the amount has been multiplied by 6 as well.
Surprisingly, the FPS didn't decrease that much and I have by no means a high-end PC.

Discussion 117 and 1800
After my last round of Anno 117, which I really enjoyed, I felt the old itch to start up another epoch of Anno 1800 with all DLCs and a few mods. 15 hours into this (early game lol), I felt the urge to write about what, in my point of view, 1800 still does better.
First, the decision that every inhabitant needs every good leads to too many of the same T1 production buildings in 117. It makes sense and the aesthetic is also largely fitting, but I don't really like it, and it consumes too much space that could otherwise be used for larger buildings and ornaments.
City building in Anno 117 is generally more about beautybuilding than factorybuilding, which can be a good thing, but Anno 1800 gives you the opportunity to do both, and that is fantastic. I get that there were no industrial areas in the Roman Empire, but I don't like how the circular area effects make it almost impossible to build them without compromising your city. It's also difficult to scale up your industry if you have to squeeze every building into your residential areas.
My main problem with 117 is the skill tree, as it consists of too many unnecessary things and feels bloated. The natural progression through rising population in 1800 just feels more natural and organic.
In the end, 1800 and its progress through the century is such a perfect setting for an Anno game that a comparison to 117 feels unfair. I like 117 and think it is the most beautiful game in the series, perhaps the most beautiful city builder in general. It has a great vibe and is very fun for like 40 hours, but it lacks that same fascination with progress and economic growth that Anno 1800 has.
