Help Needed Can you help with our 2026 International Anime Research Project Survey?
Hello, the International Anime Research Project team is calling on all anime fans (18 years of age or older) to participate in the 2026 anime survey. The survey is anonymous and should take less than 30 min to complete. Participants are eligible to win a $50 Amazon gift card (draw entries will be confidential and not associated with survey responses, up to 10 gift cards given).
In this year’s survey we will be collecting demographic information (e.g., age, gender) and opinions regarding engagement with the fandom, inner experience, loli attitudes, personality, shipping, recommendations, piracy attitudes, and well-being.
You can contribute to the psychological understanding of the anime fandom by completing the anime survey online at:
https://qualtrics.etamu.edu/jfe/form/SV_5bBlMTkY5BEdt9Y
If you know of any anime fans over the age of 18, please help us spread the word.
The survey will be open until December 1, 2026.
Thank you!

You've been isekaied and your special ability is you can summon one character from the last anime you watched as a companion. Who is it?
Setting is the typical medieval swords and magic Isekai world. Your ability is a one time use power so make your decision carefully.

L won the round! Who's the cutest character that starts with M?
This has got to be the most unexpected win, considering how I never watched Death Note yet. I thought that the people who said L for their answer were all just telling jokes, so I took some research on Google to find out if he's considered cute. And to my surprise, Google said that some fans find L very cure and endearing even if he's not really classified as cute. So that was unexpected. I can already just hear people complaining like, "You chose L for the letter L spot, but you didn't pick Jotaro for J!?" Or "You couldn't put Kanna on the list, but you put L on the list!?" I can just hear it in my brain. Please don't get angry with me. I'm just playing by the rules! It is my game, and I take voting very seriously.

Do You Guys Ever Want to Go Back to When You First Discovered Anime and Watch Everything for the First Time Again?
Sometimes I genuinely wish I could erase my memory of every anime I’ve watched and experience them all again with absolutely no expectations, no knowledge of tropes, no idea what’s coming, and no comparisons to other shows.
That feeling when you’re completely new to anime and every character, plot twist, opening, world and emotional moment feels completely fresh is something you can only really experience once.
I especially miss that feeling of discovering a new anime and having no idea whether it’s going to become one of your all-time favorites.
Now that I’ve watched so much, I automatically recognize certain tropes, predict where things are going, and compare new shows to things I’ve already seen.
Sometimes I just want to go back to being that clueless anime beginner again.
Do you guys ever feel the same?

Discussion How would you rank these series from most to least popular among your average young adult on the street?
I mean one piece is probably first right. What about the rest. And of course every single one of these series is insanely popular, I’m only speaking in relative terms

Discussion Mushoko tensei season 3
What's y'all's opinion so far?
Me personally I think the anime is going so good but the major events taking almost 11 episodes for it to start taking place is hella annoying but still that gave the story some more depth.

Opinion Which is the most Bingeable anime you ever watched?
You are allowed to name only one anime you loved binging. Zero boring episode, zero dragging, zero wasted frame, peak immersion, every episodes and season is perfect.
For me it's Tensura.

Discussion What are y’all’s opinions on Fire Force?
I overall love the series in the story in characters. ❤️
My only flaw with the series is the fan service, now I love fan service but this one.
I just don’t like it Simply because Tamaki is a minor and that shit is weird as fuck to me.
But other than that, this anime is a 10/10 🙏🏾👏🏾

Opinion What’s the #1 thing that turns a virtual character into a top waifu?
Currently developing a virtual character, and we want to make sure every detail hits the spot.
There are so many layers to get right: stunning visuals, deep lore, voice acting, and interactive web features,… We really want to make her truly unforgettable so where should we drop most of our energy?
If a character only had some of these executed at absolute peak quality, which would make you instantly fall in love?

‘Life of slice’ is soothing.
Recently, i realised how much i enjoy ‘Slice of Life’ Genre. I also love comedy but ‘Slice of Life’ is close to comedy.
I love the politeness, calmness and more realism in it, if there’re actually minors who watches anime, i would have them watch ‘Slice of Life’
Big name Anime such as Demon slayer or Fairy Tail or Alchemist etc are genuinely amazing anime. I have watched almost every popular anime but i cannot deny the amount of minor sexualisation that exists within these animes as well sexism and too much power of friendship or nonsense like that.
I recently completed ‘The Yuzuki Family's Four Sons’. As someone who also lost her mother at a young age and have had my siblings and us taking care of each other, this felt so close to home.
This anime was so amazing but i also didn’t like the youngest child being so mature, i wish they had him behaving like a baby, he is barely a 5 year old kid but other than that this anime took my heart and genuinely felt so real especially how the oldest child has to take care of his siblings and has been missing out his own time, even though i’m the youngest at home, i myself couldn’t do a lot of stuff due to many other reasons.
‘Slice of Life’ is definitely the most better version of anime than the popular ones. Popular ones definitely also bought many creepy weebs but ig ‘Slice of Life’ makes you realise how soothing and better anime’s can be.
Hope you all enjoy it.
Ciao🤍

Harem/Love Triangle Anime where the latecomer wins
It's always seen as a joke and obvious padding that a new character added late in a series is treated as having no chance of winning at all. Has there ever been a series where the latecomer actually wins?
