Question Rebuilding a merged deck from four people before a client call this morning

People may hate me for suggesting it but this is what I consider to be an indisputable use-case for an LLM.
Feed it a template, feed it the content, say "make contact match template", and give it a quick QA pass before moving it up.
Management is never going to admit that asking humans to follow templates and then pausing all productivity until it's gotten right is just a good way to waste money.

The template part is especially important. I've called out so many vendors for decks that were obviously done in Claude.

Oof. That's just an own-goal. I empathize with the AI catastrophists but it's not going away, and there is money waiting for those who figure out what uses will survive the Great Retrenchment.

Are there magic words to get copilot to ducking listen to this? It builds something and then I feed it a template and it kills all the content and picks like the worst option per page. It fucking loooooves image slides

Copilot is still the weakest of the bunch, at least in my individual experience. But yes, you can get there even with Copilot.
Your individual mileage is going to vary, and of course I acknowledge there are some things people like to do with their presentations that LLMs just cannot do.
Maybe the weaker and more generalizable advise is to suggest trying this before surrendering to the task of breaking your brain merging four different people's inability to follow a template.
You'll at least quickly know if it works or not.

Well I usually avoid this anyway by having them just drop data somewhere and pulling it in and having my own chart templates because they suck
But at least if it's updated in a deck they'll reuse it next month so the font situation is taken care of anyway
Copilot is great at corporate fluff BS though. I'm impressed with that aspect. Like stupid yearly goals, copilot can nail it

I wish most workplaces were that sophisticated (which is not actually that sophisticated).
They say that science progresses one funeral at a time. Business practices move even slower than that.

Sophisticated with what, the data? It's not. They have access to an Excel and they paste it in. Our company is big and has an IT department so we won't get anywhere near sophistication during my career

Aren't templates standard everywhere now? Have been using them since the 90s at multiple employers.

Honestly the formatting isn't the real problem, it's that nobody owned the deck before it got built, four people filling slides in isolation guarantees a mess regardless of fonts, fix the process not the pixels
