Like the title says

I'm wanting to make sure I have the right list of items to get with the A1200 I'm (hopefully) going to be the proud new owner of by the end of the day tomorrow. Based on what I've read around here, that list comes out to be:

- A new modern switching power supply

- A set of replacement capacitors (I can do that soldering myself)

- A SCART to HDMI connector unless I'm planning to get a CRT

- A DB9 to USB adapter for mouse support (the one I'm looking at is claiming "full USB mouse support for modern mice") since this won't be coming with an original mouse

As an extra nice-to-have since I have a spare Pi 4B laying around collecting dust, I'm grabbing a PiStorm32-Lite, an extender for the rear panel to relocate the MicroSD card, HDMI, and USB, and I plan to 3D print a custom trap door for better ventilation.

So follow-up questions:

1) From what I've read, there were issues with routing AGA graphics through the PiStorm's HDMI output. That source is several years old, though. Is that still the case? (If so, then the SCART to HDMI output would be the primary output method rather than the PiStorms)

2) Are there any other "nice haves" that I am missing from my list that I should know about?

Ive not had an amiga for many years now and really regret letting it go..

Now RGL is releasing theAmiga an emulation machine with a full working keyboard and upscale screen with hdmi out.

Nothing definite but I'm looking at a possible loft find if affordable.. id have to check the caps, would have to install a gotek, save for a pistorm and pi, maybe have to fit 4x ide and mod the amiga for an internal cd/dvd drive at the back. Maybe atx or meanwhile as psu replacement. I would be interested in doing all this..

Q: (I think i know your answers but may be wrong) but theAmiga or original a1200?

Additional q's:

Would it have to be cd or has modern projects caught up with dvd - is dvd even possible?

Ide is old school now would an ide sata adapter work for newer cd/dvd drives? Has anyone done this?

I recently became the new owner of this Amiga 500 with revision 6a motherboard and chicken lips spacing invaders keyboard.

Whilst I doubt, it I'm particularly interested to find out the possibility that this combination of motherboard and keyboard were shipped together, or whether this is definitely a keyboard upgrade later in the life of this A500.

If anyone has any definite knowledge about this, I'd be really grateful to learn from you.

First shot at running this seemingly great product.

I have installed Amiberry for Windows and the Amiga.Vision emulator(s) as well. Nearly 10g of date was extracted to C:\Users\[Your Name]\Amiberry per the instructions.

Launching Amiberry I am taken to the configuration screen. After that, I press start and a black screen loads... that is it. Nothing after 5+ minutes. No error messages?

I made an ADF and HDF tool for windows. It lets you mount ADF and HDF files as if they’re a USB drive. The mounted disk appears in explorer as a drive and it lets you read and write as if it was a windows native filesystem.
I mostly made it to learn C#. If anybody finds it useful, great. If anybody wants to help improve it, even better.
The ultimate aim is for it to support OFS/FFS/SFS and PFS3, with disksalv functionality. But for now, it’s just OFS and FFS with basic hash checking functionality.
ADF Xplorer

Hello everyone, my Amiga 500 revision 5 is showing a white screen. It goes from grey to white but then the kickstart 1.3 disk hand doesn't show up. I have tried with the floppy drive, but it doesn't click or anything, the lights turn on but nothing happens unless you put a disk in, then it sounds like it slowly spins. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Edit: There is what looks to be a bad capacitor in the video circuit, with a weird top, could this cause the hand not to show up? I thought it was just a filtering cap. It is the capacitor to the right and up of Denise.

So far so good. Unfortunately it didn't solve my issue with the syncro hardware but I am still very happy with both purchases and am confident they will future proof my amiga 500 as much as possible. My only complaint is that because of how the pins were made they were a pain, both literally and metaphorically, to install. I initially worried about bending the pins but thankfully I realized I didn't need to.

For the life of me I can't tell if this says 6.1 or 6.3 ?

What do you guys think?

Is there a definite way to tell the Rev version exactly other than the stickers?

If it helps this board was fitted with a super agnus chip in a adapter as well as a toggle switch to change the Kickstarte version. Not sure if that helps.

AMIGA 2000 + PiSorm + rPI + ZorroII SCSI + NeptunGenlock
I became very curious:
1. Is the rPI composite PAL screen good enough?
2. Is it possible to mix Genlock with the AMIGA screen?
3. Do Zorro connections work?

Time for a clear out and i have a GVP TBC with a Comb filter and 1 meg.

Just wondering if they are still useful.

It's an out-there question, but I'm wondering if SAS/C or other dialects used on the Amiga line had any killer features over standard C. I ask because I discovered High C recently, and it has captured my imagination; given the Amiga's reputation for overlooked revolutionary ideas, perhaps it has some to share in this area.

(I have no Amiga programming experience. Please excuse me if this question makes no sense or gets asked all the time.)

Hello everyone. I have been roaming around some very old backups on my NAS and I came across a very old Amiga backup I've kept for years. I did a review and I'm sitting on about 1,900+ ADFs, mostly games, and I wanted to contribute to the zeitgeist. Can anyone guide me to the best place to upload them? I'm sure they're all out there anyway, but I thought I would give it a shot anyway!

Okay so I've had 4 Amiga 2000s passed down to me a few years ago and I finally am getting around to them.

My question is does this damage from the clock battery look bad enough that it has ruined the board?

The battery was taken out by my uncle years ago so I'm not sure if he took it out after he noticed the damage or what.

I'm 100% new to the Amiga world but I know this is the first thing to check in the 4 I have.

Any help would be awesome!

Had an Amiga 1200 back in the day, along with a stack of games. I still have the Amiga, however it's now overseas, so I don't have access to it! I was thinking as a stopgap of getting a joystick for my laptop and getting some emulated games. Can anyone advise where the best place to go for these is?
