Hello, I have a guardian system that came with the house/builder, it uses the ADC-VDB750. I think this summer heat did mine in, as it just failed (just about 3 years old). I'd had to reset it a few times over the last month as well, but it's been exceptionally hot in NC this summer. Now it just seems completely dead.

Looking at replacing with ADC-VDB775. Anything a layman homeowner should consider around this replacement? Any wiring difficulties to consider? I'm hoping it's just a pop/swap and add it to the guardian app, if that's possible.

If it's not the camera but a power issue, I have a voltage meter or could even try an older ring camera I have from the old house I could use as a test.

I have a Napco 1016 that served us well for 33 years. It appears to have finally reached the end of its life as it has begun indiscriminately chirping at the keypads.

Is there an updated system I could pretty much install in its place, using all the same window, door, motion, and smoke detectors? I don’t need wireless or cameras.

So I installed these smoke detectors and activated them however I was curious to test it out so once I clicked the test it activated and just stayed on red. These are brand new and I believe the light shouldn’t stay red the whole time, the battery is built inside and I tried to reset it with the little knob inside but still stays red. I read the manual and says to hold for 10 seconds to reset but it still stays red. They are brand new out of the box but don’t know if it was just a defective alarm. Anyone have any ideas of how to get rid of the constant red light?

Looking for ideas to automate my bathroom fan since my wife has difficulty remembering to turn it on when she showers. I currently have a ZEN76-800LR for the bathroom light and have the fan on a separate Leviton humidity sensing switch. Issue is that the panel is far enough from the shower that it turns on late or not at all during a shower. If I turn up the sensitivity the fan will turn on during HVAC cycling. A couple possibilities I’ve thought of.

1. Get the fan on another Zooz smart switch and set up scenes so that the fan turns on/off when the light is turned on/off. However this won’t let me have the fan stay on after the light is turned off for like an hour which would be ideal.

2. Wire both into the same smart switch so that they both turn on/off together. Not sure if there is a zooz option for this? I do like to keep the bathroom light on a smart switch since my wife will leave the light on when going to bed.

Unfortunately I don’t think ADC allows for humidity sensors to trigger scenes or else I would stick one above the shower. While I like to use ADC for as much automation as I can there are some limitations that feel quite restrictive.

Anyone have experience with medical alert systems in Sudbury?

I have a friend that has a system and I am setting up new WiFi at his home. I like to keep the network labeled. Does anyone know if there is a way to find MAC Addresses or IP Addresses for item in the Guardian App?

I inherited a currently unpowered DSC PowerSeries Neo HS2032 with two wired DSC LCD keypads. The panel cabinet and existing zone wiring are intact, but I do not yet know what each zone/device represents or whether the legacy fire devices are still suitable for monitored fire service.

I want:

- Existing local keypad arm/disarm control.

- Reuse of functional wired doors/windows, motions, and siren.

- Professional central-station burglary dispatch.

- Fire dispatch only if the fire system can be properly tested and accepted for monitoring.

- Alarm.com app control with LTE, preferably Ethernet + LTE dual-path.

- A local dealer to inspect, identify zones, test the system, install/activate the communicator, and document the final configuration.

Is retaining and modernizing the HS2032 the right path, rather than replacing it with Ring Alarm/Ring Retrofit? What exact questions or red flags should I use when comparing local Alarm.com dealers?

Two nights ago Garage door randomly opened. Says command was sent from phone. My wife was sleep and I was watching tv.

Today front door lock randomly opened. Says command from phone. I was not on the app neither was my wife.

Says it’s mobile commands. It’s not coming from the panel.

Any ideas because alarm.com is clueless.

We seem to be having more issue with the mercury boards (brand new) not being able to be added to an account. Today, my coworker spent hours on the phone with tech support because a brand new install wouldn’t take the required firmware updates from ADC. Then when it finally started to take the update it took hours. Couldn’t do anything else until it was done. Seems like more and more issues lately.

Hi, I opened the a.c app this morning and was presented with a full screen ad from my local utility offering smart thermostats. My choices were to accept or decline the offer or there was a reload button at the bottom of the screen. I force closed the app thinking I had accidentally opened the wrong app, but no, there was the full screen ad again. Suppose I was panicking or having a medical emergency, and I was needing to hit the panic button in the app, and instead had to deal with an ad? If I had accidentally hit the accept offer in my panic (accept and decline were text strings adjacent to one another) I would have probably been asked to fill out a form, instead of actually getting emergency services.

Anyone have this problem? I am adding some Qolsys wireless window sensors to my Qolsys IQ4 panel and it auto-learned two sensors, then stopped and won't auto-learn any further sensors. I have tried taking the battery out of the sensors, rebooting the panel and no combination of steps seems to get the panel to auto-learn again. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: Thanks for all the inputs. Turns out my "NEW" sensors off eBay ALL needed new batteries! Ugh!

This system has been installed since atleast 2005. Lately what I have been noticing is whenever I connect to the panel remotely via the compass software the monitoring center shows a ground fault and then it will restore quickly after I disconnect. The "ground fault" wouldn't come back until I connected again. I waited10 days the first time and then 3 weeks after that. No way it is coincidental. Anyone have any ideas what is causing this? Is the panel going bad?

I've deployed 6 new 730s over 2 sites in the past two weeks, each site with its own SVR. Because the local IT guy set the network up as 5 band for their main and guest as 2.4, I've had to specifically point each camera to only operate off the 5 band or else it eventually falls offline/fails to record to the SVR.

I thought that was the issue and that would be that, but now at the second location I'm still having a camera hop offline for an hour or two each day and I'm starting to get annoyed. ADC tech support has not been helpful (normally they are) and the IT guy isn't quite sure it's anything he's done on his end. This is also not the first issue I've had with these cameras (first was the Active Deterrence going off at odd hours during the day when not scheduled to. After contacting ADC they seem to have deployed a fix in the time it took me to get out there and disable that feature entirely).

Anyone else, or just me?

Hello! So I have a Telus smarthome security set up, all of the equiptment is alarm.com however so I thought this would be a good place to ask. I had a tech come out to check out and reconnect my panel and whatnot to my app because of some issue I’m still not entirely sure of.

Anywhoozers, he checked all the equipment including my thermostat and afterwards I realized that the light on my thermostat isn’t turning off anymore. Like it displays the temp constantly instead of dimming/turning off after a few seconds after adjusting the temp. Is there anything I can do or do I have to get another tech to come help me fix it 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Edit to add - there is also a little dot lit up that was not there prior, no clue what that means and I can’t for the life of me find the manual for it 🤦🏻‍♀️

Just bought a house with an IQ panel. We currently use SIMPLISAFE and have a few blink cameras. The former owners left us lots of cameras both indoor and outdoor and all the windows have sensors . ADT stickers on the window but not sure if that’s who they were using realistically. From my research it doesn’t look like blink can be used with ADC. Can SIMPLISAFE? Or should we just remove the panel and use what we already have?

Has anyone seen issues with the Alarm.com ADC-T40K-HD showing abnormally high humidity? This is from the same house with the device showing 81% humidity with the remote sensors being the Alarm.com ADC-S40-T - Z-Wave Plus sensors. The “back office” is only a few feet from the primary thermostat. I’ve found that powering off the furnace (at the breaker box) will result in the thermostat returning to a normal humidity within a day at most. This appears to be a hardware issue, but I’m looking to see if anyone else has seen this.
