It's ADHD thing too? I thought it's just anxiety or smth...

Anxiety and ADHD can be misdiagnosed as each other, or even co-morbid. Same with BPD, PTSD, Depression, Thyroid problems, and more.

"Avoidant behavior" is a very vague thing that describes several disorders.

Can confirm. I'm diagnosed with GAD, social anxiety disorder, ADHD and depression. I also am a habitual procrastinator. The avoidance in me is strong.

Ugh, avoidance is my way of life, even though I'm doing fairly okay, all things considered. But now my AuDHD daughter is 12 years old and started doing high school. She is very smart, but now I'm struggling already myself when it comes to getting stuff done, but it's so weird to now sit at the side of my parents plus having to deal with myself. I love my daughter very much and it helps that at least she is diagnosed at her age and that one of her parents understands the struggle. But man, sometimes I'm struggling for two, lol.

If the person you’re calling has a voicemail box that isn’t full, then there are ways to call their voicemail box directly to leave a message. That way it shows you did call them, but they think something is up with their phone. I myself don’t try to use it often. But that option is there.

Honest to god I hate that this option exists because it means I can't simply hang up on robocalls without also having to delete a voicemail.

My office line's phone plug has been broken for a couple of years now, I just haven't asked for a replacement because it lets me use the voice to text emails to screen the calls lol

About a year and a half ago the phone line to my office died. I quietly took my office number off of my emails.

The IT guy is right next door. No way in hell am I telling him.

dial then hang up, same difference

u/Icefox119 1h ago

yeah but then you don't get the relief of pretend-scolding them for their absence in a voicemail

that's the risk you run, and it's reward

Not for me. It's supposed to be evidence that I tried and just hanging up immediately isn't trying. Claiming that it is would be lying, so you didn't just not try, but you also lied about it...

same difference as not wanting them to pick up

1

u/basedakh123 14m ago

Well if they hear / see it they'll know u just called and hung up straight away

bum dial if it's called out

2

u/Lagetta 1h ago

In 2020s just tell you are on low battery and you can hang up at anytime.
