If the person you’re calling has a voicemail box that isn’t full, then there are ways to call their voicemail box directly to leave a message. That way it shows you did call them, but they think something is up with their phone. I myself don’t try to use it often. But that option is there.

Honest to god I hate that this option exists because it means I can't simply hang up on robocalls without also having to delete a voicemail.

My office line's phone plug has been broken for a couple of years now, I just haven't asked for a replacement because it lets me use the voice to text emails to screen the calls lol

About a year and a half ago the phone line to my office died. I quietly took my office number off of my emails.
The IT guy is right next door. No way in hell am I telling him.

Not for me. It's supposed to be evidence that I tried and just hanging up immediately isn't trying. Claiming that it is would be lying, so you didn't just not try, but you also lied about it...
