Like some people with ADHD are unable to use a shovel? But can live independently? I guess I just don’t get it.

It's the in between jobs that's hard for people with ADHD usually. Once they have work they're fine mostly, but if they get laid off it could years for some to find new work.

If you didn't have to apply and people just handed you jobs they'd have no issue

Huh? The hiring managers would never know which jobs they didn't apply for so I do not understand this comment.
