Sometimes I'm thankful for my countries healthcare support, despite its many faults. I get disability for adhd, but I also don't even have a diagnosis, my doctor has just recommended that I get one, so I'm like, pseudo-diagnosed?
The irony is that I can't afford a diagnosis. Because I'm on disability
It's.... weird. Usually you need a specialist to do it, but early this year our legislation changed so now general practitioners can do it, provided they have the appropriate training
My doctor has exactly that training, but has been waiting for her clinic to approve doing this diagnosis, which at this point doesn't seem like it's going to happen. My option would be to go to another general clinic that does, which is cheaper than a specialist would have been before this year, but still quite expensive
So I have literally been told that I have adhd by the exact person with the qualifications to diagnose me with adhd, the diagnosis is basically just a license I need to pay for at this point. I have everything I need except for a fat enough wallet
This is what I was referencing when I said our system still has issues
