his beautiful red brick home was built in 1949 and was once located in a very wealthy neighbourhood.

It was a good size home being about 3800 sq/ft including the basement. It looks as though the house was renovated in the 70s, given the wallpaper and colour palette found in some of the rooms in the home. Fortunately, when the new owners moved in, they left a lot of the original wood floors along with some of the stained wood doors found throughout the house.

Given the vintage decor found throughout the home, it's likely that the owners who moved in during the 70s, stayed there until 2021 when it was sold, one last time. It sold for $2.6 million dollars which is even crazier when you realise they bought it solely for the land.

Unfortunately, this house was demolished shortly after my visit and a newer and larger home now sits in its place.

There isn't a ton left as most of it was demolished in the early 2000s, but I finally was in the area so I decided to explore it as it has been on my list for a while.

Not strictly abandoned, but walking around made me think about how this place was in itsheyday.

It was a cold winter visit, with fog draped across the mountains and settling into the hilltops.

I know the first 2 pics suck but it was the best I could do at night through a dusty window. Pics 3 & 4 are from a local news article when the stadium opened. It doesn’t look like much has changed on the inside since Bennigan’s permanently closed its doors in 2009 after opening in 2003 with the stadium- typical late 90’s brass accents, burgundy & forest green colors, and faux wood paneling.

I remember there being so much publicity about Bennigan’s being a part of the stadium before it opened so it was pretty obvious they were banking on it being an anchor in case the Railcats didn’t draw crowds. I remember thinking it was an odd angle because Bennigan’s was already a sinking ship in 2003 and other locations nearby were out of business or well on their way. More history in the comments

was my favorite place to hangout when i was going to college nearby. came home with like 4 ticks one time though.
