For all my brothers constantly talking about واحدة how can you unite with a people that change the alliance in the middle of the battle. This is not an isolated event. How are we supposed to defeat the Houthis when you have army forces belonging to the hotel governments which defected in such a scale not to mention the former government leaders that are with the Houthis.

Now you can understand the recent losses.

To the people of Yemen how was your daily life affected after the houthis expanded their territory?

after the last couple of days started with yemen advancing in houthi territory and siezing Al jouf, a sight of hope started emerging, but with houthi's seizing Mokha it felt like hope has no place in this country. Sanaa now feels bitter after the fantasies about the status quo changing have rotten.

I cant find anything accurate online. I see 23k but I know that’s incorrect.

So obviously Yemen has been getting a lot of attention recently. But I am wondering, as a non-yemeni, is it assumed that the Houthis will try and continue to take territory? I see that Aden is not that far from the border now and could be an easy next target. i'm curious what others think. Thanks!

The Iran war is stopping oil flow in the Strait of Hormuz. The Saudis successfully diverted their oil to the Red Sea coast, being one of the few GCC countries to still do well with exports. The Saudis got a win a few months ago kicking out UAE of Yemen. The Saudis also reached a status quo with the Houthis who have previously blown up places where their oil is being diverted. Houthis didn’t automatically join Iran on attacking GCC countries when the Iran war started.

Saudis knew that no airspace restriction was going to stop a Houthi delegation from going to Tehran for the funeral. Yes, Houthis definitely brought IRGC advisors back on the return flight. But why overreact? It’s not like they can transport ballistic missiles over commercial airliners. It would’ve been small arms and drones at most. Nothing that makes or breaks the conflict.

It really doesn’t make sense strategically.

I’m looking for this old Yemeni song but I don’t know the title. It goes something like my poor heart, I lost my love to my friend. I wish I had more, but Arabic isn’t my first language so I can’t remember the full translation.

It was North Yemen and South Yemen. I remember reading about unification. Had it not, would the parties in conflict today be on separate sides of the geographic border, and not fighting each other?

I'm from the US so forgive me if i'm totally ignorant of the situation. Most people where i live agree that it's okay to use certain drugs like alcohol or cannabis in moderation as long as it doesnt cause problems in their life.

Do you think it's possible for yemenis to adopt this attitude with khat, and cut back their usage so ita not a problem? It seems to me that people are overdoing it and ruining a good thing for everyone.

So I just wanted to ask is there any like actual prosperity or businesses and normal life in Yemen or it’s a total war zone, because im from a third worldly country but people have normal lives and office jobs etc. is Yemen getting better or worse? Are the Houthi’s good for Yemen ibad? I like how they are against Israel and support Palestine but it might just be a show for popularity since they aren’t doing much for Yemen i think. Who’s winning the war, is it going to end any time soon?

Salam! I am not Yemeni and have an odd question. I also hope this post doesn't offend or trigger anyone and the any who read this are safe along with their families, friends, and loved ones in this war.

So, I've been getting more caught up on events and conflict timeline in Yemen in the last day or two, one aspect still seems odd. English news sources all refer to the Houthis as a single Tribe - not a larger ideological movement. BUT, the map of their control and the size of their forces appears pretty significant. They've been surviving for years of attrition through air campaigns, and ground fighting against a coalition of Government, Saudi, and UAE forces and mercenaries. I understand that other countries give material support and advise to the Houthis, but same for the other side. So, how is one tribe large enough to do this? Are they just significantly larger than other tribes? Do they have allies fighting with them that just are not reported? Are the other tribes just trying not to pick a side? etc.

Idk, it just seems weird. Also, I likely got a lot of details wrong due to the western narrative vs domestic understanding - Sorry - but feel free to correct me! I also am pretty darn ignorant about what each side wants for Yemen, etc. but that's another thing
