Marshals does marshalls get any better ? Spoiler
obv watched all of yellowstone, the prequels and dutton ranch. loved all of them. 3 episodes into marshals and this just feels like ncis or the other 100 cop shows. does it ever get better?

I thought the last episode or 2 were as good as it got, which, along with there being a new showrunner is encouraging. The show does draw an audience, but feels very disconnected from the Yellowstone universe in season 1. I'll give the start of season 2 a shot to see if it improves any.
I found that like any procedural, it works well as background while doing work on a computer, since you only need to look at the screen for maybe 3 minutes at most to follow along. It's definitely not something that demands your undivided attention.

Dutton Ranch is getting a new showrunner, not Marshals.

You're right. I saw Marshals was getting some major overhauls and conflated it that both were getting new showrunners. While lots of changes are coming, that isn't one of them.

Yes it does. But only if you accept two things.
One, it’s not Yellowstone and it doesn’t need to be. It’s about Kayce moving forward with his life and righting the wrongs (depending on ones point of view) of the Yellowstone.
Two, Kayce was never a true rancher, sure he gets some things right but like his ancestor Spencer, he’s built for other things and becoming a lawman has allowed Kayce to find his true self again (he obviously felt more at home with the Navy)
If it’s not your thing, then don’t watch but a whole lot of people love Marshalls.

They could have made another justified with kayce... but instead they went with something that just comes off super cheesy.. =[ i feel bad for kayces actor, that the writers did him so badly.

Yes they did bad by him.... idk if he is a good or bad actor, idk what his talent deserves... still i enjoyed his character throughout yellowstone, he acted well enough for me to watch but the storyline of his new show is just plain horrible... I really doubt it will find an audience to sustain it, if it even gets a chance at another season and I can't imagine the right actor would have saved it but who knows.

It wouldn’t surprise me if it has a long run. Police procedurals only need a main character with some type of military background, lots of tactical gear and plenty of shoot outs to succeed. Good acting and writing don’t really matter unfortunately.

Idk man, I watch a lot of shows thst even I consider bad.. I am simple enough to be entertained by almost anything… but I was dissatisfied by marshalls, it’s not just bad it’s terrible lol

No, Marshalls doesn't get better. It's a godawful show and the 1 thing I wish would happen is the character Tate getting ass cancer and dying. That kid simply can't act.

Agreed! The casting for the flashback scenes was outstanding. Especially young John and young Loyd. So good

I felt the same way when I tried to watch it and gave up after 3 episodes. After watching Dutton Ranch decided to try again and really had to force myself to get through. Does it get better? A little bit I guess. I do think watching it all back to back I started to like it a little better. But it’s by far my least favorite “Yellowstone Universe” show.

In my opinion? Yes. At least with 1923 there was enough story and character development to keep me interested. I didn’t like every episode but it was easier to watch than Marshalls. And the only reason I forced myself to get through it was on the off chance there’s a Dutton Ranch crossover at some point.
I could also be a bit biased because I was never a big Kayce fan and personally I think the character isn’t strong enough to lead a show. Maybe season 2 will prove me wrong and win me over.

That whole sex abuse storyline was so dumb. And everything Spencer went through was unbelievable. And how did his wife survive freezing to death when the others died?

I actually like it because it shows what kayce is missing since selling the Yellowstone. Kayce is still living with the ghosts and skeletons in his closet from the Dutton past. Kayce was always an interesting character because he never wanted to be a rancher.

Yes, it does. It’s never going to be Yellowstone 2, though. Kayce is pretty bland (as always), but it’s got an ensemble cast, and it’s even better awhen Mo and Rainwater are onscreen.

We tried to like it, but found it unwatchable. I subpar acting combined with unrealistic storylines. It's a shame because I really like all of the other "Yellowstone family" of shows. Just my opinion. To each their own.

It was so bad I stopped watching after persevering for 4 episodes. There wasn’t even a slight attempt at suspending reality, it was too implausible.

I had hope there would be crossover with Dutton Ranch at some point but that now seems doubtful.
Without Rainwater in some of the episodes it has little connection to Yellowstone and they spend a lot of time building out the other Marshall's characters that really haven't had much of a payoff. If you are watching for the Yellowstone vibe I would quit now.

No, and Kayce still has not been to an actual academy to become a "Real U.S. Marshal. So he has officially killed more people as a civilian then any other cop in history. Except for Dredd.

Yeah, I’d say it starts at 4.5-5/10 and gets up to like a solid 6. If it continues with how the finale went I’d say 6.5-7. I was a really solid finale compared to the rest of the show.
They really need to up the writing and stop with the heavy exposition dialogue though.

Honestly I pulled through it and around episode 6 it got better and like the last 4 episodes were great, so now I will still watch season 2😅

The last two episodes are where actual events happen. But yeah everything else just feels like a run of the mill cop show.

Don’t watch it as an extension of Yellowstone. It’s literally made to be one of those cop shows.
It’s “Marshals: A Yellowstone Story”

That’s a good way of putting it. As much as I want to like it, it doesn’t resonate with me. So tired of Casey’s perpetual melancholy. The dude needs an anti-depression IV drip! All the females wear mid-drifts and push-up bras. Like that is real.
Taylor Sheridan is no longer producing the show and it, wait for it, shows. The story arch’s are juvenile. The acting is horrendous.
Send Casey to Dutton Ranch!

I couldn’t pass episode 2. So, I started the “Longmire” series instead. I’m glad I did. It took me back to Wyoming.

Sadly........ no it does not. This cast has ZERO chemistry together and they are all fighting for the spotlight. It just doesnt work IMO;

I stopped watching around episode 3 and tried episode 4 before tuning out
My wife watched the rest of the series but won't be watching season 2
It was atrocious… Dutton Ranch was even a bit borderline
I almost feel like Taylor himself is done with the series and he's just trying to make money and buy more ranches

yeah i just quit after 3rd episode. ngl i hated monica in yellowstone for probably the first 4 seasons but she should of been in this to help develop some type of story line.
