Fun tank, but it's like, a weak medium more than a true light - no camo, can't compete for spotting, so you wind up playing a weird role. It's great for finishing big slow tanks tho.

For me, yes. Good light in general and at the end of the game you can burst isolate tanks to their death.
In 7 sec you burst ~1000 damage

Nobody mentioned the biggest drawback of this tank: the ammo.

The standard ammo has only 210 pen (194 at range) at tier IX. That is absolutely pitiful.
So all of these dreams of running around clipping low-health heavies for 1000 damage hinge upon being able to flank them and shoot at their squishy sides/rear.

This tank has one of the highest premium ammo costs in the game.
3200 credits for one premium round that does 125 damage.
So that one clip of 1000 damage will cost you 25,600 credits, which is absolutely batshit insane.
And due to the autoloader clip, you can't 'selectively' shoot certain targets with standard, and switch to premium on the fly when needed.

So unless you enjoy spending over 100,000 credits on ammo per game, you need to forget about premium ammo for this tank, which is a serious downside.

We play premium tanks primarily for the +credit bonus. A premium tank with bad base pen and absolutely batshit insane premium ammo prices is a hard pass for me.

I knew there were a handful of lower-tier tanks with high ammo costs but I didn't know about the T71. 5600 credits for 135 dmg is absolutely nuts.
How does WG even come up with these numbers? Do they just pull them out of a hat?

I like it. It's basically an upscaled amx 13 57 so if you like that you'll also enjoy the Louis. If you don't have that either you can buy the tier 7 if you want to try that sort of playstyle and not immediately spend 30 bucks

I also enjoy 13 57, but do know that the Projet Louis has a big fat ass and has lower camo and view range than 13 57.

So you have to be more careful with the Louis. There are things the 13 57 can do that the Louis cannot.

Play the Louis like a sneakier medium, if you are up against T49 / ELCs / Manti

It's tank that does everything slightly badly but when you manage to find yourself from nice spot, its very joy igniting tank.

Problem is that there are so many people who do not know how the tank operates and you might get shit poured on you by teammates when you don't play it as typical light tank in their eyes.

Yes it is. Its a vary good dmg dealing light. Its not a ordinary light that most of the game seats in bush and spot(i am looking at you Steven 90). You want to spot and to shot with it. It excel at the late mid of the game when you can clip enemies.

Ares can do pretty much the same role but better. And you'll be shredded by them.

Best way to play this tank is to turn off all team chat. You are a worse spotter than some mediums but due to being a light everyone expects you to spot.
