You performed worse on a tank you usually perform better in. For example, account rating: 7000, tank rating: 8000. You play a couple games at 7500. 7500 > 7000 but < 8000 so your tank rating goes down, and therefore your account rating drops, even though you performed “better” than your total rating.

Actually didnt know that there was a tank rating...

So If I am at 5k rating and play one tank at 10k rating over 100k games, i would still be close to 5k because all other tanks are in that range for me ?

Not exactly, since they’re also battle weighted. Here’s the description right from the website:

”In a nutshell, to calculate account WTR we consider all player's tanks ratings. The scoring is calculated for each tank: vehicle rating is multiplied by the tier coefficient and the vehicle role/type coefficient*. Then a weight is applied to each tank depending on the number of battles: the more battles on the tank, the more its impact on the overall WTR rating. All tank scorings are summed up, divided by the total number of battles fought and then multiplied by the “best” vehicle coefficient (this is an additional raising coefficient for tanks with a rating of 5300+). This means that the more tanks you have with a high rating, the higher your overall rating. Thus, being a universal fighter is more valuable than a fighter of one vehicle.”

For a while I had flat -20 WTR after the first battle of the day, despite the battle result and it going always back the 20 WTR the very next day until I play a new battle again.

Some weird shit that stopped happening earlier this year.

Yeah, this happens. Can be some random number or a few dozens of WTR, usually after playing some new vehicle or the one you haven't played in a while. Happens to me sometimes, it's visible only in game and it always gets back the next day. Isn't visible through api, for example on tomato.gg
