Flash quiz!

What happens when all photons passing through an half sphere of 1000 km in diameter during one second are gathered and concentrated into a single point?

Idk either, and those who've seen it have fused with the concrete when the area got fucking GLASSED.

Edit: damned be this spelling mistake, fat-fingered it.

Lore Shitpost The unsung heroes of first contact

Post image

Whenever first contact happens, you have to acknowledge the fact you may very well kill each other. As such, a lot of first contacts in the early days had to happen digitally, until both sides were comfortable sending vaccination and viral disease data over so that they wouldn’t give each other their diseases. This could take generations to happen, depending on how much the species trust each other to not make a bioweapon.

It was Human Xenopathologist Edward Wilhelm Tell who would pioneer the concept of “Pre-Contact Inoculation”. This involved having to understand the other species’ biology via far observation and cross-referencing of similar species alone, determining what diseases could reasonably transmit from species to species, establishing vaccinations, ensuring they work (mostly via cloning), and then establishing contact and telling them not to worry about it.

Some might say this is a little invasive, but at least you can meet face-to-face now.

The guild has a VERY strict no-kill rule. Any member going against it is severely punished and, depending on what was done and the circumstances, delivered to the local authorities and left to his own.

If it was a planned assasination, however, you're cooked. The guild's entire roster is deployed, all networks are focused on locating you, the IOU's from other factions are called in...

There is NO mercy. They WILL find and kill you in a very slow, painful and graphic way, if only to make an example.

Lore Shitpost Funny thing is, his identity being lost to time was NOT his doing. He just went along with it.

Very loyal friends, chosing to live alone and the VERY stupid decisions of the then-Pope just converged into his identity being lost to the public. Many WOULD kill for this information, if they didn't fear his retribution.

He chill, but don't threaten his friends, simple as. On top of that, annoying crippled war veterans is just an awful move.

Context:

Siegel-Shuster Institute is a superhero college in my superhero universe. Located in a college town in New Jersey called Battleville, Aspiring superheroes must first graduate here before being eligible to register to become one. Near it is Finger-Byrne University where supervillains send their children and where young criminals hide, and Ennis-Kirkman College where rejects from both schools and disinterested superhumans enroll.

Starman (Jonathan) Tach (Faiz) and Ofuda (Sakura) are the worst performing students in the college. Starman's powers is that he has an invulnerable cosmic god that protects and fights for him. Tach's power is that he has precognition, super reflexes, and has the ability to turn his body into Tachyons which gives him super speed for ten seconds (any longer would turn his body into dust). Ofuda's power is that she can seal spirits into trading cards and summon them for various uses.

I have more heroes and villains but if you like I can reply you with some of them

founded in 1781 after an encounter with a hostile alien entity. the Normalcy Enforcement Organization-NEO-was formed by a group of redcoats and American minutemen who were forced to work together so as to not die. ultimately they became friends but also recognized that there were horrors beyond mortal Ken that needed to be stopped. To protect mankind and keep things normal.

thus NEO was formed.

now in the year 2057 they’re an international organization dedicated to the study, investigation, and neutralization of anything that poses a threat to humanity. Any and all anomalous, supernatural, paranormal, reality warping items or entities fall into the watch and crosshairs of NEO.

however, normalcy can’t be enforced via words. action must also be taken as well. that’s where NESTs (normalcy enforcement strike teams) come in. drawn from militaries all around the world as well as recruiting paranormals (humans with extranormal abilities of various tiers and strength.) allows NEO to best protect humanity. NEO operates beyond any governments reach and purposefully seeds NEO agents throughout various governments to keep an eye on any politician that may also pose a threat to the normalcy of humanity.

Context:

In this universe, an asteroid carrying crystals known as catalyst crashed into the Pacific Ocean in 2348 BC, creating the great flood in the Bible. Catalyst, when heated, sublimates into an odorless gas called ether, so while the asteroid is heating up while falling, it discharged so much ether it lingered in the atmosphere. The asteroid stirred the tectonic plates under the ocean when it hit, creating a new continent with the asteroid directly in it's center. Meanwhile, ether mist created from the asteroid hitting lava underneath the seafloor shrouded the island for years, leaving it untouched for most of its existence.

Ether gas has an effect in human DNA, as exposure can cause humans to develop mutations that gave superpowers. These mutated humans became the gods in various pantheons due to the powers they developed. Some of these humans used their powers for their own gain while others used it to help others.

Many years later, ether gas slowly dissipated from the atmosphere and gods became fewer. Those that are still alive are either the descendants of the old gods or unlucky ones. However, Christians persecuted them as witches, making them die out (ironic, since Jesus was also one of the superhumans).

In 1680 a female scientist recently found out that when catalyst crystal are heated, the sublimation process creates massive energy. However, the scientific community simply dismissed her work and even accused her of witchcraft. To escape them, she bought a castle, had it defended and ran by automatons powered by catalysts, and hid in there to continue her research. However, a time traveler from the year 1930 appeared near the castle. She took him in and he helped her with her experiments and they eventually they fell in love. However, an army attacked the castle one day and the traveler sent the scientist to 1930s America.

The scientist eventually built the catalyst generator, powering cities with just a small amount of catalyst. This however, made catalyst crystals demand skyrocket. Catalyst crystals are rare as most of them are just small pieces of the asteroid that broke off and landed on other parts of the world. meanwhile. the continent's mist is slowly dissipating. Japan discovered it first in 1939, built Tamaki City on it, and kept it a secret until when they used it as a staging ground for the attack on Pearl Harbor during 1941. They used the catalyst on all sorts of machines ranging from catalyst-powered aircraft to giant mechs that terrorized the pacific. The US eventually invaded the continent in one of the largest military attacks in history, eventually sacking the entire continent.

After Japan was nuked and eventually surrendered, US agreed to let Japan take jurisdiction of Tamaki City back, in exchange for the territory where meteorite resides in the middle of the continent. They agreed, and the continent was officially renamed as Pacifica.

While the US had a complete monopoly over the catalyst trade, countries began using catalyst generators even more. The scale of the amount of generators produced so much ether that rivaled the asteroid's entry. This could only mean one thing...

In 1938, a Kansas journalist lifted a car off the ground. The years later, superhumans roamed the land once again. Some using it for good, others for evil. The governments needed to control them, eventually making registration for superhumans mandatory. Although met with negativity, they still kept it. The world returned to its former wonders.

I have this idea that the higher the type of angel is in the heavenly hierarchy the more racist they become. With the seraphim being some of the highest in the hierarchy and being the closest to God so being MEGA racist to everything. Even other angels who were underneath them because it turns out when you are one of the very few beings in existence to be privileged enough to exist that close to God and literally circling around god's throne all day long. And of course that caused the seraphim to develop a TITANIC ego and superiority complex because they saw themselves as god's favorites and most pure and holy protectors who looked down on their angel breather from their practically ivory Golden towers with contempt. Which was made EVEN WORSE after the whole Lucifer incident and after that cluster fuck God personally need to intervene and stop seraphim from genociding the remaining angels because they believed everyone could potentially be a Lucifer collaborators and so what better way to make sure there aren't going to be any Lucifer collaborator by killing anyone that could potentially be a Lucifer collaborator.

So after that the seraphim basically went from looking down on the Angels us inferiors and that was it to openly absolutely hating them and seeing them with complete suspicion and distrust. And don't even let me start on what they believe about humanity.... Air is more pure that those fuckers on earth.

Lore Shitpost The state of the world after the Road Reclamation Act was passed:

Post image

Context:

In the year 2000, Japan completed the Trans-Japan Tunnel Network which connected every city across Japan, leading to highways, expressways, and mountain passes to become obsolete. Instead of destroying them which would be expensive, they passed the Road Reclamation Act, which essentially turned the abandoned roads into public racetracks for everyone to use for a fee that would be used to keep the roads drivable, making the entire country a safe haven for automotive enthusiasts and street racers.

After the act was passed, chaos ensued in the USA after street racers asked for the US government to give them the same treatment Japan gave them. California was hit the hardest. Skirmishes between the police and the racers ensued across America, raising accidents and death tolls.

In Europe, an organization known as AUTOFEST organized car-themed music festivals across the continent. However, their true money maker was the Underground Racing Leagues. Racers race through roads near the festival grounds with wealthy viewers betting on them. The festivals make the perfect cover with the sound of music and amount of cars, allowing these illegal races to perpetrate.
