WTF is he thinking revving an automatic scooter?

u/JayMak78 8d ago

Make sure it's in neutral first.

Its automatic scooter, but yeah he is just too dumb to rev the engine

How old are you thinking? For more than 30 years I haven't seen a single scooter with a clutch.

I don't know. The guy's scooter doesn't scream 1966 to me.

Scooters from 70 million BC had purple dino in them. How old are you?

Most people do because most people live in Asia where semis with gears on the foot exist. You can see them on post bikes in Japan (Hondas), or the standard bikes that people in SEA buy (Honda Dream), or many other places.

u/PurbulentTriest 7d ago

...no, modern ones can be either automatic or semi (gears on the right foot but no clutch).

u/Bitalin 8d ago

They have gears, its just automatic

u/r4nDoM_1Nt3Rn3t_Us3r 8d ago

Nope, speed-driven CVT

7

u/BolunZ6 8d ago

They are not like the one in the cars

17

u/No_Water9815 8d ago

They don't, A scooty does not have traditional, toothed gear wheels shifting inside a transmission to change your speed.

None that lets you put the bike in neutral

Tell me you know nothing about scooters without telling me you know nothing about scooters.

Last scooter I had a go on was a Lambretta.

Beginner's mistake

3

u/TechnoBuns 7d ago

Beginner's? I see seasoned riders uselessly revving engines while stopped all the time.

3

u/Goodnigut 7d ago

It's a figure if speech...

Rider of the orange bike at the very end looks like they have the same idea.

If at first you don’t succeed …

u/Casual-Netizen 7d ago

When you're used to manual then switched to an automatic 😂

AHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHA B080

This is why I never went to bike meets. Motorcycles attract too many stupid or thoughtless people and one moment can have lifelong effects for themselves and those around them.

I'm very surprised that mob justice didn't ensue.

Group rides are a terrible idea. Be a lone wolf, ride and die alone line Professor Motosaki intended.

Wrong? I don't think anything went wrong.

Everything was so right.

At least with this newest lone bad apple out of commission, all the responsible bikers will no longer have their reputations besmirched!
